Have a question regarding my boost readings.  I have a DPS 62/65/12 on the truck with 125 hp injectors.  It should be boosting up to 45 psi.  However, I am only seeing maybe 41 psi uphill with my foot on the floor.  I've tried cleaning the MAP sensor out (there was lots of carbon in it), but it didn't get to the levels it should.  I've adjusted the wastegate rod all the way closed in case the drive pressure was opening the flap, but that didn't help either.  Anyone have any similar experiences or advice?  Thanks

1. test for boost leaks

2. don't worry about PSI you live at ~6000' altitude.  what it  "should make" is not really the case.

Cleaning either the MAP sensor or IAT sensor never fixes anything.

Will do.  I'm also going to pick up a mechanical gauge to compare to what the Quad is reading off the MAP sensor

Meh I would boost leak test it and forget about.  The Quad is likely off by a few psi just due to the nature of the electrical gauge.

I'd be careful with the potential for over speed at elevation and higher boost levels. Not something we typically talk about with these for some reason.

Much easier to do.  I would assume you are right at the limit for shaft speed now.  

Probably getting close....  I'll get a boost tester made up in the next couple of days and see what it says

Another thing, when I had an edge on my truck it would max out at 41psi. Mechanical gauge said a hair over 60psi. Tst would read 53psi (limit of transducer on my turd). 

Huh.  That's good to know.  

point is don't be so concerned about boost, once you are over 30-35 psi you are "making enough"

 

 

If there is an issue then resolve the issue, but don't think just because boost is at x ,y , or z that there is an issue.
