Has any body notice the intake on this engine ? Is it bigger than the one of the 24v ? Just wondering.

It don't appear much bigger just taller... But hard to judge in the pic...

What is the HP rating? What is the year?

Generally, the order of engines having the most HP is like this:MarineDodge TrucksHeavier Duty Trucks like 4500/5500 things like that/RV'sGeneratorsMaybe you notice a trend? Dodge trucks are actually en exception of the trend. The trend I am talking about is cooling, this is why you see it in the order it is. Marine can cool the most, moving vehicles next, then stationary stuff. The thing about dodge is that it has smaller cooling capability than say Flman's truck, yet they are consistently rated for more in most cases, though some trucks do actually have the same power as the heavier duty trucks. I think they do this because semi trucks are supposed to last a million miles. If your semi went 250k and blew up, I think you'd be done with that brand. Dodge trucks on the other hand, the majority of us are done with them after 250k anyways, I mean look at the mileage chart, only a few have more than that. So dodge said the heck with longevity, we will up the power a bit more to keep up with duramax. But, because it's a cummins, it is inherently long lived. So my point is, don't worry what that engine appears to have or whatnot, unless it is a marine engine, it is not going to be more powerful than whats in your truck now.Just as a reference, I saw a brand new 6.7 generator with a nameplate rating of 160HP..

That is what I was thinking, it is probably from a brochure for a commercial truck, cause mine was rated 225 HP and 605 torque back in 2000, and I could have gone higher. What was the stock Dodge Cummins pushing back in that era? I have seen that brochure at the Freightliner dealer, and the Cummins dealer.
