i want to know what is the dana number of my 2005 dodge ram 3500 2wd beacause i hear the sound on the differential and the mechanics say is the bearings beacause the ring gear and pinion looks good

It is listed on a sticker in the glove box door on my 02. Don't know if your 05 has one.

Typically either on the inside of the hood or the inside of the glove box. You can get a build sheet from some Dodge websites by entering a VIN number. 

It should be an AAM 11.5

 

No Danas in anything after 2002 if I'm not mistaken

Yep ,  IIRC  They stopped using good ol' Dana axles after 2002

 

I remember wondering how their new axles would hold up
