That doesn't sound right. Any vibration in the driveline? Does it get worse with speed? Maybe a bent driveshaft? Loose/worn trans mount?

Are you speaking of the vehicle trying to move if try to pull the shifter into a gear without pushing in the clutch in? I do not mean forcing it into gear, just holding pressure on it.

No shifter just moves a lil on take off

Does not sound unusual to me for little movement. All the mounts are designed to give a little under load.

Ok just checking transmission doesn’t grind or anything

  • 2 weeks later...

Probably just wore out bushing or a mount somewhere

What fluid y’all running on the 5 speeds

How many miles on said transmission? Could just be normal wear and tear. My 6 speed with 200k has some movement.

Not sure on miles but was told it’s rebuilt

Did you had to rebuild it at one point

No. The one I have now came from the salvage with 52k on it. The truck had about 250k on it at install. That's really about 220k on it.

What happened to the original one, took a bearing out running low on oil?

Got stuck in 4th gear. I had to hulk out of 4th and it would not go back in. Never made a sound or gave any warning. Don't know what happened.
