Posted February 14, 200817 yr Mike, I was wondering about the Scangauge. Is it a simple plug and play setup? I am interested in getting on.Al
February 14, 200817 yr Owner Very simple PnP product... Just plug into the OBD II port under the dash and let it connect to the PCM and your done. Now all you got to do is follow the menu. More information here... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/personal/2002/scangauge2/scangauge2.htm
February 14, 200817 yr Author Would you know the dementions of the unit? I have two cubby holes in the dash and if it would fit in one of them then that's where I would like to mount it. I would drill a hole in the back of the cubby hole and run the cord through there. Also, how long a cord do they send with it? I know you can order a six foot cord but I don't think I would need that much.

February 16, 200817 yr Author I went to the dealer today and asked if there would be any issues as far as warrenty if I installed the ScanGuage. I showed him info on it that I has printed out. He said as long as it isn't a programmer then I should be ok.
February 19, 200817 yr Owner ScanGauge II is completely safe for use in all vehicles and should not void warranties... Simple reason it only a READER... :thumbsup
November 17, 200816 yr not to hi-jack but I've been emailing Scanguage for the past 2years about when they are going to have the codes for the X-gauge for Dodge. When I bought it they said 2-3months and they'll have the codes I emailed them 4-5 times since with the same response now there not even replying to my emails. Have you inquired about the X-Gauges MoparMan?

Have you inquired about the X-Gauges MoparMan? As a matter of fact I was asking if they could come up with a corrected XGauge for the MAP sensor so we can see corrected values... But my emails are slow to get responses... I'm going to try calling them soon... Here is the contact info on them... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/manufacture/manufacture.htm
November 18, 200816 yr the person that use to email me back was Ron DeLong I have his email if you want it, maybe anybody that has a ScanguageII can email him about the X-Guages and why they dont have them for Dodge Diesels :thumbsup
February 3, 200916 yr so did you ever get anymore info? i tried again and nothing i'm debating returning it as they said that they would have the X-Gauges for Dodge in a year but its been 2yrs ...
November 6, 200915 yr Owner I kind of wonder how much more there is that a Dodge has sensors for really? The only thing I not seen yet is fuel level sensor... Everything else is displayed already really... The only thing I upset with is MAP...
December 4, 200915 yr I hear you on the MAP sensor. I still have some in stock at the group buy price. Can't seem to find my old thread where they were $149.95, but I have 6 left. Its a nice gauge display and code reader.
December 25, 200915 yr Couple of questions, Are you able to get the Runtime to work? Also are you using Diesel b for fuel type?
December 25, 200915 yr Owner Are you able to get the Runtime to work? The ECM doesn't have the function... Also are you using Diesel b for fuel type? No... Diesela
February 20, 201015 yr Would something like this work if i have a edge drag and a smarty? With the 2 computers, my truck is being lied to more than 5 politicians in on a election year .
February 21, 201015 yr Owner Yes... Because what matters is the GPH (flow rate) and MPH (speed) to make MPG numbers... Edge Drag is tapped like my Edge Comp and everyone thing of just because it tapped that the ECM can't see the signal... This is untrue... The ECM can see the change in signal but can't alter it. So the Edge pushes the fuel pulse forward in time and extends the pulse length. But the ECM still seeing this so it not being lied to really... It being pushed beyond it normal limits.
February 21, 201015 yr i believe smarty alters the ECU's fueling, timing, and boost maps...but its still the ECU sees the info if i understand bluechip's redline correctly, the ECU and FPCM can see whats happening...just powerless to change the data
February 21, 201015 yr Owner i believe smarty alters the ECU's fueling, timing, and boost maps...but its still the ECU sees the info if i understand bluechip's redline correctly, the ECU and FPCM can see whats happening...just powerless to change the data Correct... The Addon box or programmer alters the data and forces the new values apond the system but the ECM and VP44 are "powerless to change the data"... So in this light the SG II will work just fine because the fueling data and speed data can be calibrated too. Where the stock "Overhead Idiot" is fixed for stock tires, stock gearing, stock fueling, etc... So if you modify any of these things then the overhead idiot fails to report accurate data... Where the SG II can be re-calibrated to the new data...
March 27, 201015 yr I have a SGII and get very good mpg. But I have never used the gauge's display of instant mpg. You KNOW what it takes to get good mpg, and you train yourself in those driving habits, situation by situation. Just use the minimum throttle and rpms to get you where you are going. Looking at a gauge will not do it.
