Hello newbie here, I’m having issues with a new Quadzilla Adrenaline v2 iquad it’s got a pretty bad (what I would call) buck at what seems to be around 18% throttle position. When accelerating it’ll hit 17-18% throttle and start jerking no matter what the speed is and seems to be worse on a grade, when easing out of the throttle I get the same results 18-17% throttle a hard starts jerking,I have tried everything I can think of to tune it out and no matter what I change it’s still there. Swapped apps sensor off of a friends truck with no luck same thing. I have put about 350 miles into just trying to tune this out. I’m about at my Witt’s end and considering just putting my edge comp back in but would really like to make this Quadzilla work out because of the extra features it has. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  

Bucking is typically too much timing advancement. You might want to post your timing settings.

datalog the bucking situtation,  that should clear up a lot of questions.

Agreed. Had a similar problem started taking timing out and problem disappeared.

I think is what I run.

 

I use the Light throttle to advance my timing where you have it set.  

drag the datalog into the box below

I have a datalog attached if it is not what is needed ill get some more logged today and attach them tonight, Please forgive my ignorance with all of this just trying to learn as I go lol.

where is the datalog is it bucking?  Line #'s would be great

 

Edit: the data log doesn't match the tune you posted.  the cut off for lgiht throttle timing is %20 in the datalog and %30 in what you posted.  

 

I also note you are using backdowns, which is fine, but I would disabled those for this testing.  

 

Are you using wiretap when it bucks?  does it do it on level 2? 3? 4+?  

Should be happening between the lines of 15-59 and 83-108

what level is it bucking on?

It happens on 3+ levels, What do you mean by disable backdowns

So no bucking on lvl2?  

 

Boost defuel and egt defuel.  Turn them off for testing.

 

If it does buck onlvl2 then try lvl 3 and repeat.

 

If it pannes on lvl3 it should happen on lvl 2 if it is timing related.  If it only happens on lvl3 + we should look at the fueling curve.

It seems to just buck on levels 4 up more noticeable than levels 2-3, Here is a short datalog I have from this afternoon, With these settings I had some real hard jerks but I cant make anything out on the datalog should be in lines 123-294 range. I have one more short log I'll add as well. After going into town and back I hooked the edge comp back up and drove around for about 30 minutes on the same roads and conditions and had no issues with the edge on any level. I really hope that its just me not knowing what I'm doing and not the quadzilla.

On this log and settings the bucking should be in lines 244-449 the best I can remember where it was happening.

Any white smoke out the tailpipe?   

 

How bad is the bucking?   I am wondering if you aren't running enough timing down load when not in cruise state timing.

If that doesn't work give this a try this out.  It is a "hidden" mode of doing timing on the quad.  It will add to stock rather than running it's own.

Have you looked at the tune on the phone to verify that all the variables loaded?   You shouldn't see any 0's or 150's in the lower psi area of the fueling tune setup.

No white smoke but a light grey smoke, On the low boost level fueling its 100 all the way across when building a new tune if that’s what you are asking about when looking at the phone. I’ll try those timing parameters out in a bit when I go back out, as far as the bucking it’s very noticeable to the point it’s unpleasant to drive. I really appreciate your replies in trying to help me figure this out.

Smoke color and being light grey is possible that the timing is a bit retarded on the low end. 

 

You could try my current tune a bit aggressive...

 

1500 - 16.0

2000 - 19.7

2500 - 23.4

3000 - 27.1

Max - 27.1

 

Max timing offset - 1.5

Timing Max: 30.                                                              So far this has been the smoothest it’s ran yet, light bucking on the same roads and clean conditions. I think this is headed in the rite direction any suggestions on witch way to move the timing from here.

Timing is not even. 

 

Like mine above is +3.7 evenly spaced. 

 

16 + 3.7 = 19.7 + 3.7 = 23.4 + 3.7 = 27.1

 

RPM is linear and timing should follow the same linear scale. 

 

16 + 2 = 18 + 7 = 25 + 3 = 28 

 

Your timing is not linear. It all over the place.
