Alright so story is, was driving the truck one day stopped and shut it off came back out and turned it on absolutely no throttle sense whatsoever, figured it was a bad ebay tps so through the old one in that just mad the truck idle high, three the new one on worked great until a few days later it did the exact same thing as the other one so I decide to go to thouroughbred diesel to get a reputable apps and put it in and still absolutely no throttle response whatsoever as if the apps was completley disconnected, throws the following engine codes

P1693

P0123

P0122

P0121

P0230

any ideas or help would be appreciated. Just goes back to idle.

Truck is an 02, has a fass 165 lift pump. 75 hp injectors, Quadzilla Tuner, S&B CAI, vp44 was replaced I want to say 100k or so.

Also might be helpful to note I don’t really feel a click when I plug into the tps with the connector as well as I tried to back probe #3 which I believe was blue and black wire that is closest to back of engine and on drivers side and I was getting practically nothing about .3 mv.

Looks like its time for a Timbo's APPS.

Are you sure? The same exact problem with 3 tps’s I’m hard pressed to go spend another 170 on a tps I just went out and checked voltage I’m getting .56 at the tps at “idle” go to press the throttle and get nothing did the apps reset already when I put the new ones in, took pins out of connector individually and checked all connections and for corrosion it all seemed to check out fine. I just really don’t think that it’s a tps at this point.

Well for now the truck is working again went and bought a Bosch obdII scanner and checked all codes and then erased them. Then I started the truck to see what came back none did and the throttle was back. Does anyone know if it’s possible the conflicting codes sent it to limp mode?

Limp mode would allow you to drive though very slowly. As one who has gone thru similar codes with some dead pedal, though it never lasted more than a minute or two, and engine surging all with similar codes a new TPS never fixed it. the dead pedal I went thru was fixed with better fuel pressure. Mine was almost non existent. The surging went away while doing another repair. That all leads me to believe it was in the wiring somewhere. I know that is not much help, it is just my experience.

Yeah I feel as though mine might be a wiring issue it just seems weird that it didn’t have any throttle response so I cleared the codes to see what would come back and no codes came back on and the truck ran great and drove like it did before this whole ordeal. I’ll have to keep an eye on it and see if it acts up anymore, love it and hate it when a problem seemingly fixes itself.

One type of test to check the wiring is the shake test.  With the engine running grab the wire harness and move it around and see if any codes are set or the engine stumbles.  This could show if there are any poor connections in the wire harness.

Thanks ib I’ll have to check it again, thanks for everyone who helped.
