I got a leak at the transmission line coming off the transmission line right at the fitting. I am assuming it has a oring at the fitting. Can I replace just the oring or the fitting? Is thier a c clip holding it on like on some smaller cars? Or does it just unscrew and the whole line come off?  Is this part of the cooler or what is this thing?

Got it! Tightened it down just a little bit more and I drove it to work and back today and no leak! Whoo. Thanks everyone.

I've seen those come loose, put a wrenches on it. See if snugging it fixes leak

only thing I can think that thing does is warm fluid to operating temp. I've thought about bypassing it and running lines straight to cooler

I dont think so. They're hydraulic fittings jc maybe, seal on a taper. Kinda like a brake line.

Check to make sure the plastic separators haven't started letting the lines rub together.

My did and ended up dumping all the fluid as I went down the highway loaded. Got to town and it wouldnt move ounce I stopped at a light.

I now watch that stuff religiously. In shifts I can tell if its low on fluid but cruising unless it slips I cant tell. A temp gauge would help. I'd see a drastic temp change with lack of fluid. Or pressure gauge.

My lines are now mostly rubber.

That leak at your exchanger isnt to concerning more a annoyance. I'd almost make a bet that you can snug it and it stops leaking.

Good luck

Yea I want to get ahead of it before it gets worse. I thought maybe my plastic clip had broke because that's where I seen the drip. I think I'll add a rubber hose over the tube to help prevent that.  Hopefully I can just snug it up. Thanks for you help!

Well I tightened it up maybe a 1/8th of a turn. It's a heck of a place to get to. Still leaking tho. Any other ideas?

Might try taking the line off and checking the flare end for any deformation. I would also pull the fitting out of the heat exchanger and replace with a new fitting. If I’m not mistaking the heat exchanger end of the fitting is NPT, and the transline end is jic.

Yep, you won’t know until you see. Is it the line coming from transmission going to the exchanger or the  line from exchanger to the transmission cooler on the radiator.

From exchanger to transmission. Might have to get a new line. I was hoping it would be a seal or something on the end of the line or in the fitting. Oh well!

Is that for both lines and the correct fittings? That would be the better way if so for sure.
