Posted October 26, 20195 yr Got the high idle switch installed and was wondering about using it in MPG mode with the XZT. I read that in MPG mode the high idle switch alters timing. So does the XZT when its in the 65 hp setting. Any problems using the 2 together?
October 26, 20195 yr No issues. The high idle switch doesnt add timing it only makes it so the ecm uses higher base timing in the winter Edited October 26, 20195 yr by Me78569
October 27, 20195 yr Author Thanks. I thought it was just using a warm weather timing map but wanted to double check.
October 29, 20195 yr Owner MPG actually retards the timing in the winter. When the IAT goes below 80*F the ECM jumps up like 4* add degrees of timing advancement.
October 29, 20195 yr Author Thats good to know @Mopar1973Man just wanted to be sure i wasn't going to damage anything.
November 4, 20195 yr Owner Nope... Started with the switch on the Edge Comp then the Quadzilla for many years and thousands of miles so far.
