Hey guys - 5.9 cummins project getting a Jeep body swap on it. first post here hoping for some help!

Since buying the truck in March I’ve recently replaced the cylinder head with a tested/inspected reman and threw in ARP headstuds and a new head gasket. After installing head I have no start. truck was running and driving perfect before and since the head it’s a no go.

fass lift pump and thoroughbred diesel VP44 were each about a year old before I bought the truck. Lift pump is working as it should but I have a feeling injection pump has something wonky going on. When I bleed the rails, fuel shoots intermittently with a ton of bubbles. I’m getting a ton of air in the system from somewhere and can’t seem to figure out where. So here I am hopefully someone here can help out! Thanks guys

By rails do you mean the fuel lines and are you seeing the the foamy fule at the cylinder head? Almost sounds like all the air has not purged from the fuel system yet. Are cranking with any injector lines?

I also would go over everything fuel related you messed with on the head install and be sure all us tight.

And welcome by the way.

crack lines 2,4,6, have someone crank engine over till it starts firing, then tighten the lines.  this is after you figure our the air in system problem

I always do 1, 3, and 4 cause they are easy to reach. I dont have a wrench that will get to 2 without removing the intake horn.

I just thought you were a gluten for punishment. Even with my long arms I hate #6.

I only do 3 lines period. 1, 3, and 4. Leave the others alone. Now the 3 open lines will purge fast allowing to build pressure in the other lines. Now where its starts to fire stop and tighten 1, 3, 4 again. Hold the throttle about 25%crank again this will provide more pressure too and typically starts easy.
