It's time to add head studs and I know I'm getting new, stronger valve springs as well. Is there anything else you all would recommend doing at this time as well??

62/65/12 is going to run hot at WOT.  You will want more turbine flow... go with a 62/65/14 or a little bigger at 62/68/12.  The 62/68/12SXE flows 77lbs/minute and the non- sxe 62/65 typically is 72lbs/ minute.  Give me a shout if you want to talk turbos, injectors Quadzilla etc.

Just picked my truck up yesterday after having Quadzilla, head studs, and valve springs installed......man what a difference the Quadzilla made lol Now I'm gonna have to learn how to fine tune it. Truck runs pretty clean even on lvl10 surprisingly.

If you have no tunes installed, its not a lot of wire tap, only 1400us. But you also have a 63mm turbo.. That makes a difference lol.

 

Also, power levels over 3, so 4 and up, are divisions of 100% wiretap. In the settings, I run 6 power levels, 0-5, with 4 being 50% wire tap and 5 being 100% wire tap.

Also those percentages are of the user specified wire tap amount. Meaning the 1400-2200us number.

Stock tune is pretty derated in timing. Once you build a good timing  curve it will be even better. Fuel map is fairly easy but there is a few tricks.

So the lvl10 is still somewhat tame? I can't image it pulling harder than it does 😳 I tried to upload a video but no luck

I run level 2 and can still smoke the tires. Tame ha! Now go 425 miles on a half tank of fuel.

I'm sure those little 245's don't stand a chance because mine was trying to spin in 4th gear lol

So where's the best place to read up on/learn how to tune/maybe get custom tunes that have already been made?? Didn't seem like there was anything real helpful in the instructions but I was only able to skim over them. I'll probably bring the instructions in tomorrow and see if there's any helpful info in there.

There is articles on how to build tunes here in the article section. Then in the download section there are some pre-made tunes including my current tune I'm running.

Excellent! I don't mind paying for tunes/ppls time but I still wish some of ya were close to talk about this stuff since I'm new to all this downloading, importing, etc. I took my mustang, had it dyno tuned & rolled on lol I could run 8psi to 16psi and not mess with anything.

I've been doing the chat on the phone and build tunes too. I've helped @Sycostang67 build his tune. There are a few here I've been helping setup Quadzillas and diagnose performance issues.

I plan on buying your mileage tune & probably a "race tune" from someone.

Honestly, everything you need to build your tune from out of the box stock to custom tuned is on here.. Just need to dig for some of it. I'm not against paying for tunes, but some of those were from early Quadzilla knowledge, back when 15° in the 1500 band was the recommended start point. Not all have been kept up to date to my knowledge.

 

Hardest things to figure out:

- Nomenclature. Some things have weird names and aren't intuitive.

- What some of the timing push/pulls do.

 

Other than that, it isn't as hard as people make it out to be..

 

Its not like EFILive .

 

If you want a true race tune start at 100% for like 0-5 psi, then go up in 5% increments until its at 150%.. Wire tap probably 16-1800us range starting at 5 psi.. Fueling wise at least. its gonna be smokey and hot but it should rip.. Timing needs a bit of reference on my end to get you a good start. Been a while since I played with my Quadzilla due to my truck being down.. If you want a clean race tune, that's a different story..

 

@Mopar1973Man, don't know if you been asked this but, do you have a race tune hiding on your Quad?

Mine will go up to lvl10 so I'm not sure how hot of a tune that is, there's nothing in the manual describing each factory tune that I saw. I know it's a huge difference from the smarty but it runs pretty clean. I wish I could get the speedo video uploaded but it keeps erroring out.

If you open up the custom tuning area of the Quadzilla that will tell you right away if there are tunes in there. Otherwise you were running on an odd (poor) timing curve (I mean line), and factory dodge fueling with bare minimum wiretap.

 

You also set how much wiretap you are adding as well. So a hot tune is only as hot as you make it. Then the levels break that further down.

 

I only run 6 total levels because I don't like pushing a button a million times since it doesn't really matter what the amount of levels are. I wish I could actually go less to 5 total because I run level 3 in my day to day and only play in level 5 when I'm sled pulling or playing. I don't have a need for 50% wire tap.. Unless that changed recently, 6 total levels (have to include zero) was the minimum.

Me I only run 7 levels being it splits the wire tap up by 25% per level. Actually level 2 is the best for MPG. Level 3 is better for all around driving. 4 and up is all wire tap. 

 

Again the biggest feature to my tunes is no extra power is giving below 15 PSI which makes for more daily driver fueling. Now if you in it for performance then you should make a second tune that is economy and then the other for performance so you can pour on the fuel early and heavy. Then like when spring get here I'll be towing my RV more and have a 3rd tune for strictly for towing.

1 - Valet mode

2 - Stock Fuel no added fuel above 100%

3 - CANBus fuel

 

4 and up is all wire tap settings. You can break this up and have 10% per level or anything in between.

Well after today I'm off for 4 days so I plan on messing around with it & trying to learn what's going on with it. I just know it's a world of difference. Went from 38psi to 50+psi, egt's will hit 1300°, it'll wrap the speedo pretty quick to 110mph.
