Mopar1973Man's Adventure to California

Well I think I'm going to start a diary of my adventure. As today I've been getting the last bit of work done here before leaving. I've got to do some last minutes stuff and get the last packed up. I'll continue to update this thread as I go. I'll post photos and just keep everyone updated.

My ATV is ready. I've aired up my bicycle and rode out to the mailbox and back. Just need to do my laundry one last time and grab more clothes.

I've gotta head to town get propane, can of gasoline and diesel fuel.

I'm planning on getting to Parma as my first stop for food and supplies.

Well I met up with @JAG1 there in Fernley NV. He led the train as both Cummins packing a load and crawl up here to Annett's Mono Village. It was fun just tag teaming down the highway. Just as we are entering the park it snowing! Yeah thanks @IBMobile for calling and telling me it's going to snow and drop to 15°F. I'm here tucked into a tight corner but manage to fit it in. I'll get photos tomorrow. Yeah I've got wifi but don't tell anyone. Gotta keep the post going.

@JAG1 took me out to dinner. Both had steak dinners as the food it's good. Prices are good. After dinner JAG1 went back got a shower. I got the DVDs out and watched Coyote  Ugly. JAG1 bought ice cream. Oh man talk about being soiled on vacation with good friends. JAG1 I gotta say thank you for dragging me out of idaho. Very beautiful area yes I promise to get photos and post up.

Y’all need to caravan to Pigeon Forge next spring for the Smoky Mountain Truck Show…it’s wild, and we can get a Moparman booth at the convention center…then get rooms at Margaritaville or at a camp ground on the river.

Good morning....

Too stoned and tired when I was typing. Yeah I'm cutting loose and not giving a damn and still don't this morning. As of last night it snowed slightly, cold and thankful I opted for full hook ups. Left the water trickle all night. I've got a section of water line outside the house which sucks but do what you gotta.

Other than that Beast did really good climbing the canyon road getting here. We are like 6,000 feet up I'll check my GPS later on when the sun comes up more. Darn cold out.

Wow 2,200 miles from home from me. Some better consider flying me out. Bad enough 5.699 for diesel. Here it like 7 something I look when I go past the shack later.

I’m sure we could sponsor your flight over, and get you a complimentary 2nd Gen to drive for the week.

Hopefully tomorrow weather improves. I want to venture out on the bicycle and check out camp and the twin lakes. I brought my ATV but no ATVs allowed in camp so mine is staying loaded in the truck. I'll load up and go out to a forestry road and venture out that way too.

Now I hope @IBMOBILE-JEN shows up too.

Diesel price is $7.119 a gallon in California. Move the decimal right one position and that your 10 gallon price. $71.19 for 10 gallons.

The BoD are definitely out and on vacation too. I know quite a few of you are following this thread, I'll try my best to keep updating the thread with adventure.

It really does bite when your first bottle always seem to run out a night. 1am getting bundled up quick run out hit the transfer switch and open the second bottle. Propane is bad here at $3.25 a gallon.

I paid $4.50 a gallon in Idaho. @JAG1 and took a bicycle ride and I manage to blow a bead and tube hanging out and shortly tube popped. Jag1 took care of the inner tube and we rode down to the general store and they had a tire in stock. So I get back @IBMobile is have heater issues. I gave him a had and lubed the blower motor and help reinstall the heater. All working good.

Yesterday it got into the 70's outside temp. Still drops pretty cool at night like high 30's. Sometimes it can get breezy. Went on that ATV ride I had to pull off my Hoodie it was getting to hot later in the afternoon. Then sun start heading down you start bundling up again.

Yeah I'm still alive. Everyone went out to the shooting range in Bridgeport. Kind of surprised I still could shoot accurately. Yeah its been awhile. There was all kind of rifles and pistols we were firing. Funny my old Firestar 9mm I did better than my new Ruger ACP which is still new to me. My .22 rifle I'm pretty deadly with.

@IBMobile and Dave are good cooks. Wow the chow we had last night was great. Even @JAG1 came over with a DVD movie and watch part of a movie just before dinner. Still gotta finish up tonight.

This morning got up and helped a neighbor move his trailer to a better spot. Then @JAG1 and I  took of for a bicycle ride around the meadow. Then came back for a bit of eggs and bacon. So today is going to be a lazy day because we are heading out in the morning for a hike to the waterfalls maybe 2 miles. (Guessing).

Sounds like you're having a good time....
