Rocker Arm Inspection

I pulled all rockers off replacement head for my truck and what I noticed was every rocker had scratch marks in the bottom of each rocker and the rocker shaft, Is this normal? I dont like what I am seeing but there is no slack in them that I can feel, I will mic each one tomorrow. Can anyone give me the wear tolarance for this inspection? I did a search and not getting the right info. There is no sluge in head it looks good as far as that go's. I just cant belive the rockers would all have scratch marks like that. Oh and cylinder one and cylinder three had green dots far something I dont know what, cylinder one with one mark and cylinder three with two dots. Also stock thermostat was still in this 98 modle head, 8/98 was stamped on stat.

Sad to say most people will run from that engine being a 53 block... :rolleyes:

Yeah true - but if it doesn't have the crack (normally under the side by the tranny heater passenger) then would be good indicator its gonna be fine. Plenty of people with a 53 block holding good numbers. The price for a 60k mile engine tho is awesome !! I mean if you could get for 1100 then its not much more than the head alone. And its the full engine.

I might have it magnufluxed just to find everything lol . I wont to know what the tick is, my brother lives nextdoor to me and he says on a cool crisp morning he says it sounds like a hammer hiting a anvil.Here's what gets me, when and how did it screw up.Here's my chance to trim turbo gasket if need be and smooth up manifold.
