cleaning axels for rebuild (axel tube)

Any hints, tips or tricks to clean the crud, sand and crap out of the axel tubes to the inner seal without pulling the carrier?

Do you have the axle out from underneath the truck?

Well, I have a plan....at least if what I read is correct: I have to remove the carrier to get the seal replaced? If so, long extentions and a wire wheel reduced to the right size.

@Mopar1973Man this truck looks like it was run thru a LOT of muddy water.....so it's all over in the tubes, with sand and grit.

Inside too? That's tells me seal issue or pure abuse to have debris inside the tubes. Outside no problem. Just pressure washer the diff housing.

You could pull the guts a pressure wash the inside too. Then air dry. Then dust with WD40 to retard rusting. Then paint the outside and load new guts (bearings and seals).
