the info on my 2001 ram 2500 are in the glove box,the# are faded,the only thing I have is the serial #1B7KF23651J555993 is there any way I can find the right paint color # in the s/n,by the way my truck is 2 tone black & silver:(

should be on the sticker on the doorpost/door opening

Mine says it on the door sticker and the sticker under the hood. I would think yours would be the same silver color as mine, unless they used different silvers through the years. My code is PFA.

If it's silver, it should be one of these:

Bright Silver Metallic Clearcoat S2/WS2

Bright Silver Pri Metallic Clearcoat SB/WSB

Dodge vehicle color codes can be preceded by an letter such as P or Q. For example if you are looking for color code W7/GW7, it may appear on your vehicle as PW7/GW7 or QW7/GW7 or RW7/GW7, etc.

It's weird that you list a different one..

Clear coat is a layer on top of the paint. Maybe you have heard people say "my clear coat is gone!".

2 Types of paint... (Enamel & Clear coat) Enamel paint has no clear coat and shot as a signle coat. Clear coat is shot in 2 parts the color which has the appearance of flat paint. Then clear coat over the top to give it a shine. There is a lot more work to doing clear coat paints...
