I've noticed a boost leak in my '04.5for about a month. It's getting worse and sounds like it is commingle from the passenger side of the truck. But how do I find out where it is coming from?

Have you checked your boots? There is a link around here somewhere that shows you how to build your own test setup. Maybe AH64ID will drop by and give a hand on the subject.

I would check all your boots and connections. It's an 04.5 so it shouldn't have a plastic end-tanked intercooler, but take a peek to be 100% sure. To build your own tester you need to put a plug on the turbo intake that has a schrader valve in it so you can pressurize the system. Then get out the windex and find the leak.

How much pressure should I put to the system?

I wouldnt go over 20lbs, but thats me. You shouldnt need but a little pressure 10-15. Your turbo pushes 20+.

I got the system to around 15 psi and found a leak around the boot at intake side of the inter cooler so I tightened up the clamp. But I still have a leak some where and I can't find it. Anyone got any more suggestions.

Isn't this also a "round-a-bout" way to check the condition of the pistons rings and valve seats??? Afterall, that's the area the "air" is supposed to go anyway!!!:smart:

Not really going to be able to check valves and seats with this... Because only one cylinder maybe open for air pressure. As for pressure I only used 5-6 PSI because the clamp wasn't strong enough.
