I still have the Silencer Ring installed and I know a lot of folks run the Silencer Ring MIA. Understanding there really isnt any performance gain why do folks run it MIA? Just purely for the whistle? How loud is it? Any long term impact by running ring MIA?Thanks in advance

I wonder of there's a difference between the the HX, and HY's. I have the HX, and like several other posters here, barely notice a difference, certainly not enough to become annoying on extended trips. Others here seem to notice a huge difference and/or find it enough to be annoying. Maybe i just got used to it from my OTR days.

What might be the big difference is the air filter steup... Stock airbox will muffle the noise really good... But a BHAF will allow the turbo whistle to come through really good...

Yeah and my AFE is the same way. Another thing i noticed was when i had the silencer ring out and not straight pipe it was not as noticeable but once I straight piped it It was like jet taking off :thumbup2:

I have had mine out for a couple years now. Its just loud enough to hear sing, but not annoying, even at 30psi towing. It got a bit louder when I ditched the factory tq tube for a Airaid MIT. I think the 3rd gen air box location and design are just quieter.

Agreed, I love how the BHAF sounds.
