Posted September 24, 201212 yr I want to modify to a big line kit,I work in a hydraulic shop,I can get these fittings if somebody can help with the thread size
September 24, 201212 yr Im almost 100 percent sure the vp is metric thread but cant help you with the size. On the filter housing if i remember correctly it was 3/4 - 16. Ill try to find some literature and let u knowTry a 12 x 1.5 on the vp. Maybe somebody will correct me but im pretty sure thats what it is
September 24, 201212 yr If you have the newer fuel canister, the one the filter loads from the top, both the inlets to the canister and the vp are the same thread size. That would lead me to believe to outlet on the canister is the same also. The banjo bolts appeared the same when I swapped mine.As far as the size, I dont know.
September 24, 201212 yr Owner Contact Eric at Vulcan Performance he's got all kind of fuel fitting and some larger one if you want to upgrade maybe...
September 25, 201212 yr Was out in the garage a little bit ago and dug out my old banjo bolts and dripley is right they are the same size on the canister and vp. Double checked em with my tap n die set and they are 12 mm. I was thinking they were npt on the canister because my smaller ports where i draw my fuel pressure from is 1/8 npt. Also, this is on my 1998.5 im not sure about the newer style canisters bieng the same.
September 25, 201212 yr Author on my 2001 the filter element comes out from the top & the outlet of the filter seems to come out from the bottom to the vp.Is this the same as the 98.5?
September 25, 201212 yr Owner on my 2001 the filter element comes out from the top & the outlet of the filter seems to come out from the bottom to the vp.Is this the same as the 98.5? No. The 98.5 is a bottom loaded filter housing and both fuel lines come out the top of the filter bracket.
September 26, 201212 yr The big line kit through vulcan states 98.5 thru 07 models....you should have the same threads as the earlier canisters.
