My blower works only in the morning , when I drive 10-15 miles and turn of the motor and start again , the blower will not work. now I found out coolant is leaking on the passenger side the carpet is real wet. dodge dually 2001

Time for a heater core at the least. The heater fan motor may be on it's way out or it could be the resister pack, it's what controls the power to the fan motor after the fan switch.

for about 2 yrs now, my blower motor only runs on the fastest setting. the other 3 are like OFF position.

Thats definately the resistor. Fairly easy to change too.

Resistor block sticks up into blower duct over passenger's foot well... wire to blower motor. Check for mouse debris which causes resistor to over heat by blocking cooling air flow to it. Resistors do 'just wear out' eventually, however.

True. I have replaced my resistor and blower motor on two seperate occasions.

I had to replace my resistors & found them blocked my mouse nest materials more on the cirrus than the truck after I used SS pot scrubber (just SS steel wool) to keep mice out of the cowel drains & thus out of the heater. I thought the air intake screen must be damaged on the Cirrus... but stopped when I had the heater core replaced. The shop would not tell me what they found but must be around a hose or drain hose was damaged.

Disconnected the heater core for now, need a new one. was not the resister, was the blower motor. put a new one in. now my A/C works. Thanks guys.

Just a note on the resistor...I've typically bought them at the dealership, for around $80 or so, until I discovered one day screwing around with a bad one that blew, that they tend to separate at the contact joint. I was looking, and it seemed to be a fairly weak solder joint, so I resoldered the resistor on, and it worked fine after that. Just a thought for you guys to check on, before replacing resistors...could save yourself a chunk of change for a minute's worth of work.
