Posted January 2, 201015 yr How do we reset the computers on our trucks??I think all I need to do is reset them to get my rig going can anyone help? thankx
January 3, 201015 yr Owner As in reset error codes? If so just use a code reader and erase the codes... Pulling the battery cables will erase the APPS sensor calibration but nothing more...
January 3, 201015 yr Author I've tried the scanner but as soon as the ecu gets power or at the first attemp to start the CEL comes on I seen a tread somewhere about resetting the ecu but can't find it,I think it was something like pulling a fuse or related I will keep searching thankx anyway.
January 3, 201015 yr Owner If the CEL light is on its because there is a physical error or problem and yes its in limp mode if the light is on... So what error codes do you have?
January 3, 201015 yr Author I believe it's 0234,0235-0236, I also go an 1688:eek: I think but this one came on after I pulled the relay from fuse panel in engine bay. I also replaced the batterys and need to recheck for new codes. :cry2:
January 3, 201015 yr Owner Well the P1689 code is cause from the fuel pump relay... The P0234 and P0236 are MAP sensor codes. The Banks otto mind might be the cause of the errors if you disconnect in and reset the codes and they remaain off the you know you found it...
January 3, 201015 yr Author I think the problem is going to be that it's disconnected and I got a banks big head actu so the ecm is prob getting more boost,im gonna head out to the truck and get the current codes i'll report my findings when i get back.thankx for the help
January 4, 201015 yr Author ok i got the usual 1693 and 1688 twice, I cracked the lines cranked it and started I shut her down closed the lines back up and nothing so I guess i'll be calling jkidd pretty soon
January 4, 201015 yr Owner ok i got the usual 1693 and 1688 twice, I cracked the lines cranked it and started I shut her down closed the lines back up and nothing so I guess i'll be calling jkidd pretty soon P1688 is a internal failure of the vP44... Sorry! Sorry to hear about that. What kind of lift pump are you running? Good question? Also do you have a fuel pressure gauge in the cab?
January 8, 201015 yr Author well I just replaced my stock LP with an airtex and I don't have a fuel gauge yet :sad4: but planing on getting one after I get a new vp.
January 8, 201015 yr Owner Like Racer-Dan found out he replaced his stock with another stock assuming the stock pump would be fine for stock setup... There is a post here with 12 PSI at idle and dropping to 7-8 PSI WOT... So I highly suggest oyu get a gauge soon...
January 9, 201015 yr Owner Either are good just remember to get a needle vave for either on you get to protect it from water hammering...
