I was wondering if you all could help out. My 2001 seems to get warm whenever I pull a load up a hill no matter the size of load big or small.. I was pulling my 7x12 trailer with three quads up a long grade outside fossil Oregon and truck was getting extremely warm. Any ideas

How warm? What is the condition of the coolant? Is your radiator plugged with oil? Does the fan spin freely when the engine is cool and off? What kind of mods do you have done?

The coolant is in good shape. The truck starts hitting the red on gauge. I have edge comp, 4 inch exhaust, all gauges, PAC brake. My rad might be plugged with oil now that you mentioned that, I did remove the over flow bottle and ran hose down to cross arm.

Auto or manual and what gear do you tow in? Do you have a pyro? I've seen a few people (my wife using my truck to haul something) tow in 6th gear with 10k on a trailer, truck just lugs away and overheated.

Red it too hot for sure, based on 2nd gen history I would check the radiator and look into a breather relocation mod.

That's way too hot... Ekk!

I would check the radiator first thing. Really common to see the face of it all packed with grime and oil.
