Not quite sure I am understanding your question totally but there are 2 different VP44's in Dodge pickups. An SO pump 215 hp and an HO pump 235 hp. The SO will work on an HO engine but the HO will not work on an so engine. An after market built HRVP44 will work on both engines. The so pump has more fuel volume than an HO pump the HO pump has more timing and more pressure than an so pump. The HRVP44 combines the timing and pressure of the HO with the volume of the SO pumps. Hope this didn't cornfuzz you.........

I understood everything, I found another pump I guess it's an industrial pump it comes on tow trucks and tractors.

and they call it a midrange pump :confused2:

If you can find out the hp of the engine it would probably be the same as the dodge vp from a tow truck or the 275 version. The tractor would most likely be different as they are goverened differently than automotive applications.

Right, my truck is governed to 2500 RPM, the Dodge Cummins rev much higher.

There was actually 2 styles of VP44... 98.5 to 99 was a 215 HP truck... Then there was a SO (standard Output 235/460) then HO (High output 245/505) SO typically were 5 speeds and Automatics and the HO was the 6 Speed trans...

i think that the autos are 215hp and the standard trans were 235hp, unless it was sixspeed
