I am about to do the EGT Probe install on the truck. My question is I need to know what is a good gasket for the turbo and down pipe? I am going to remove the turbo to do the drilling and tapping on the manifold. I want a good gasket and is there anything I need to look out for or tips while I do this install. I got the probe from vulcanperformance and it came with a green box ( I am assuming a amplifier?).

Thanks in advance  :thumb1:

You sure you want to go through all that hassle to drill the hole? Many people drill the hole without removing it just fine and have nary a problem doing so...

I wouldn't and have not ever removed a turbo when drilling and tapping in a probe. If anything does fall in it is so small it will puff through the turbo into the exhaust long before it starts to spin. I just set a magnet tip next to the hole while I am drilling and tapping to pull the cuttings away as I am doing it and have never had an issue.

Hmm I am so afraid of trashing the turbo. Any advice where on the manifold I need to tap?

Dead center of the top of the hump of the rear section of the outlet just before the turbo to manifold joint.

When I did my egt probe I use grease on drill bit a nd tap as well as magnet. If you have a small pencil mag. you can fish around the hole as extra. Did mine 2 yr ago following above link no problem.

Drill it out with shop vac going. Use magnet to probe interior for chips. You will be good to go. Gauges are a real eye opener and the greatest asset when monitoring the performance of these trucks. Have fun.
