Thinking of upgrading my Edge W/Attitude. Mine is one of the early models with the small square boxes in the screen. 

 

Edge is offering me a fairly good deal on upgrading the unit to a CS or CTS unit but other than a newer easier to see display am wondering what if anything it does differently.

 

Anyone have one of the newer models and know the difference?

As far as I know just the display changes. The software should all be the same.

Im very anti edge but I love the cts. I got one sitting on the shelf waiting for my pillar pod to show up

I'm only anti-Edge Juice. People tend to mis-use the alarms and limits and create a performance issue, laggy, loss of power on the upper end, etc.

I have the early edge with the same display as yours...I think.

I turned off all the alarms and just drive sensible.

I kept an eye on the numbers for a long time until I had a good idea of what was going on under the hood. 

I don't tow so heat is not much of an issue for me here.

I am curious as to how you will like your new display.

Well if you have a "A" pillar pod coming, hang on to it! Edge does not make anything that uses the "A" pillar pod anymore and when I asked them where I would mount the new device they said "we can get you a suction cup so that you can mount it on the dash or windshield!" which is really not a good option for me. Am really happy with the older style on the "A" pillar....

Have not 100% made up my mind just yet and not even sure if Edge will be able to help me. Just ran the numbers and found that my unit is a 2002 model that was upgraded in 2009 and it may be too old for them to do any upgrades with, I have to call them back and check it out now that I have the production dates on hand.

 

I have the fuel pressure warning setup at 10 psi and love that, but now with the AD 165 pump and filters I never see less than 17 psi at WOT. 

 

Will chime in if I make the switch. Would love to upgrade a bit but lets see....

When I bought my truck the Edge was already in it.

However very little of it worked right.

I took it out and re installed it proper. 

It had been just on velcro tape on the dash.

Got the proper mount that it fits in and looks much better and dosen't wobble around now.

Only issue is setting the levels.

If on 5 its on 5 everywhere.

I think Michael explained this to me, its a fault of the early ones.

I usually drive with it on 0 most of the time.

With the 100 sticks and the other doo dads it works nice and gets good fuel mileage.

5x5 and any pedal and I run out of road real quick...these trucks will easily out power their handiing ability.

Just installed one on a customers pickup last week

I run the Edge CTS monitor and the Smarty S06.  The CTS allows me to control the POD settings of my Smarty and I use it as my gauge set for the truck.

 

Well I ended up upgrading to the CTS display and keeping the attitude controller.

 

This is after they drug their feet Friday and over the weekend I called them on Tuesday and asked where my unit was. "Oh we were waiting on the EGT harness which is backordered".... and this is after the guy I ordered it with told me that they would ship it on Friday "no matter what" as my old EGT harness was still on the truck.... 

 

Hope it arrives today.... then the fun of hooking it all up and finding a new home for the display! Will report back!
