truck died on the way to church. Originally had P0236 p0177 p1693 p0602 p0500. However These are all pretty standard for me with the smarty, no fuel canister, and having just spun the tires with the new turbo.

I cleared the codes and no other codes came up after trying to crank again.

Kinda odd to get a no code die and no start... but I'm thinking the vp44 randomly decided to die.

Any thoughts?

Thanks. will do.

Any luck? Hoping it's not the VP for your sake

Haven't had a chance to do anything with it.  It isn't a good time for me to work on a immobile vehicle... I am going to see if a local shop can do it.  If only my base hadn't gotten rid of their auto hobby shop. :(

Look for obvious problems like wiring issues, fuses, connectors that are lose. Double check your prime on the pump is it actually pumping fuel? There is a gent on CF that upgraded to large injectors and ended up losing prime after dropping the throttle too quick. I'm not going to condemn the VP44 yet you need to show me some signs that its actually dead.

Remember you could do the BlueChip test with a pump that lost prime and be point to a dead pump too. So be sure its primed before testing.

Mopar man. I followed your advice.

Good px from the fass. Cracked 1 and 3. Fuel to 4... 1 dry. Not unexpected if 4 is where it's seized to.

What the heck, opened 2 and 3. i had fuel to those. Button them all up, really open up 1 and get fuel to it. And it runs fine.

I'm suspicious now, especially of the computer. Time will tell. I very well could have lost prime to the vp, but with my fass that would surprise me. I could have an air leak in the lift pump line though. I need to open up my snubbed on the fuel px gage a bit and see how low I can pull it down.

The truck is in now for an alignment and possibly some front suspension work.

As an LOL.  I took it to a mechanic here at my base to get ball joints, alignment, coolant flush, and he was like  diesel... Especially when I started saying things like "yeah, it doesn't have a stock fuel system... or stock injectors... or stock turbo... or fueling..."

I will get it back on friday and should be able to start diagnosing the rest of the fuel system then.  I think I am going to drive it nice for a month or so, turn the fuel px up a bit on the FASS, and then run the living heck out of it and see if it dies.

Ok... I'm not sure of the amount of boost your creating. But at some point along the way of making big boost numbers its possible to create enough boost pressure and compression that during a sudden release of the throttle the fuel pressure is gone from the lines and the compression is high enough to blow back into the lines purging the fuel out and air locking the VP44 once again. It all depends on the pop pressure of the injectors and how much boost you can build.

As for electronics I would verify the alternator for AC noise issues. If there is more than 0.1 VAC then the alternator failed.
