  1. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/860-DIY-DPF-delete-sims I don't get why you closed it? Because it is a old thread is not a good enough reason In my opinion. The last guy to ask about it does not want to add power and a vender is pushing a tuner. You can buy sims from Rolling Smoke Diesel and a delete pipe. get the 100ohms sims and enjoy. It is always better to post in a existing thread on a subject that to start a new one on the same subject. Unless your forum is just about the numbers.
  2. Do you really think the castor oil is a proublem? It is considered to be a very good 2cycle oil.I use it in all of my high compression engines. It will not cause rusting.I heard that sea~foam has alcohol but they call it something else?Is this CA-40 for diesel engines or gassers?
  3. plowsite :lmao::lmao::lmao:I see that is where you get your info. No, in all seriousness put some counter weight in your truck back by the tail gate. How can you say it feels planted with all the weight on the front axle? You have little to no weight on your rear axle. You must have to use 4whell just to go up a small snow covered hill? It's there to balance out the vehicle (better control) and a gain in traction, give it a try the other folks on the road whose life you save will thank you. rogan. Like what was mentioned at LP I'd leave the truck side as is and cut the mounting tab off of the plows push frame, weld in a block and reattach the tab. It can be salvaged.
  4. :moon:A good sense of humor and the capability to decipher sarcasm is also helpful. As for over heating unless your running down the road with it raised all the way up it shouldn't be an issue. If the heat does raise, down shif if you can and lower the plow and angel it away from the air intake this seams to help or try an air defelector, I've never seen one(other than pics) or used one in 33years.The newer trucks seam to sit higher so the radiator can get some air over the top of the blade if you travel with it as close to the ground as you fell comfortable. It'll shoot a shower of sparks if you scrape the road at speed.
  5. It may cool faster but it will not cool it below it's temp. Air or a fluid flowing over a thermometer will drop the temp faster but not below the ambient temp or the temp of the fluid no matter how fast or slowly it travels. Wind chill has no effect on an inanimate object, like your truck if it did your outsidetemp woul fall the faster you went. 1. What is wind chill temperature? A. The wind chill temperature is how cold people and animals feel when outside. Windchill is based on the rate of heat loss from exposed skin caused by wind and cold. As the wind increases, it draws heat from the body, driving down skin temperature and eventually the internal body temperature. Therefore, the wind makes it FEEL much colder. If the temperature is 0 degrees Fahrenheit and the wind is blowing at 15 mph, the wind chill is -19 degrees Fahrenheit. At this wind chill temperature, exposed skin can freeze in 30 minutes. This is because our skin is covered with water/ moisture it is the evaporation of this moisture that makes it "feel" colder when it really isn't.. 2. Can wind chill impact my car's radiator or exposed water pipe? A. The only effect wind chill has on inanimate objects, such as car radiators and water pipes, is to shorten the amount of time for the object to cool. The inanimate object will not cool below the actual air temperature. For example, if the temperature outside is -5 degrees Fahrenheit and the wind chill temperature is -31 degrees Fahrenheit, then your car's radiator will not drop lower than -5 degrees Fahrenheit. /om/windchill/windchillglossary.shtml
  6. Cool,I don't mind if you slam me,:thumbup2:But give the guys a chance, I realize that we are not everyone's cup of tea but you'll find our members are some of the industry leaders and we have a few who own snow-plow dealerships and guys with years of experience. Are you just plowing your own drive or do you intend on plowing for a little extra $$?Or ask right here at Mike's place. Good luck and have a snowy winter.
  7. Yea, our members at letsplow are some well weathered veterans of the industry. They call'em like they see them. Not much gets candy coated. But they will help you and give some of the best advice when it comes to plowing snow. The ribbing and what not, could be seen by an outsider as not being very inviting. True, but this is because many of us have known each other for years. We give each other some good old "_sh1t___" (ribbing) this may come off as gruff or intimidating to a newbie. (free speech) & (people who speak freely) (frank business men)As you have found out it is hard to find air bags for the front of a 4x4, they are starting to make air/shocks but remember the shock mount was not ment to support weight.Timbrens are a good choice, I use them front and rear.Counter weight should be place at the tailgate. I use around #400=500lbs plus a sno-blower.With the timbrens, with out the plow they do not come into play unless you hit a big bump. With the plow the front will be much firmer and it will help control any bouncing.I looked in the Dodge forum and saw nothing?I looked at your profile and you didn't even ask a question. How about you give us a chance before you diss on us?Summer is our slow time , things will pick us as winter approaches but we still have plenty of active members who can help.If you give us a chance I'll give you an easy tip to make installing your timbrens an snap or very easy. Not that it's very hard but some still have problems. Thanks Sno~Ps in my changing the font springs thread you can see the timbren installed.
  8. I'm in Duluth.I'll have to stop by Chads shop for the next gtg and meet some of the locals.Chad use to work for me at the ski hill, but that was a long time ago.
  9. I'm just having some fun. (notice all the smiles?) I know MN is considered the "Mid-West" ,"north central" or a "great lake state" seeing as it borders one of them. But come on KY and VA? even if you stood on a beer can you couldn't see a great lake from there. ]http://etc.usf.edu/maps/galleries/us/regional/index.htm or http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/statesbw/regions.shtml just say'en..
  10. Nice addition to the site but I have a Q?How is it that WV, VA & KY are Great Lake states and MN is not? I can see Lake Superior from my back porch. What great lake borders Kentucky?or is my geography off.
  11. For some reason I got it in my head it was a 98.............. It's a 95. It's the wife's run around town ride, so the only time I touch it is when I have to work on it.
  12. I drain my fuel filter when installing a new filter. pre-fill the filter. No water would be present at this point. When I drain my fuel filter periodically encase I do have water present. I have only seen a few smapp droplets (smaller than a pin head) fourm in the bottom of my sampling jar.But I see your point about it recirculating back to the tank. The more i think about it at idle it proubely dumps more back into the tank than it burns.Maybe I'm just lucky:shrug: but I've never had a proublem using it.I'm trying to ween my self off of Husein any additives other than an anti gel in mid winter as it gets kind of cold in northern Mn in the winter. The 4runner. the 3.slooooow (3.0), Limited in green 196k on the ticker and still going slowly. I think there is a dent in the floorboard from slamming down the "accelerator":)
  13. ???If you fallow the directions or use common sense you would drain the fuel filter first,(how could you add it if you didn't?) or pre-fill it when changing the filter. How much water do you think is present in the small amount of fuel that is in the filter? If you have that much water in your fuel to have to be worried about this you have bigger problems. jmo
  14. Yes the pail oil has wax in it but so does diesel fuel. The ipa is not an issue if you do not add it to your fuel tank.Just like using power service or a similar products that emulsifies water or removes water from your fuel are bad. Let your fuel/water filter do it's job if water is the issue. When added to your fuel filter it does not have the opportunity to emulsify any water.Like a lot of products it depends how you use it.just like I'll never use 2cycel in my diesel, it's for my 2 strokes. Now with B2 being mandated by law in my state I may stop or cut way back on cleaning additives. No proublem with gelling just run 50% #1 in the winter.
  15. Any fool who would wear a cap sideways is a little:cookoo: Even the want-a-be gangsters are to cool:cool: to wear it that way. Even the sea~foam folks will tell you not to use the product the way those fools are. Sea Foam, when used in Diesel fuel, cleans fuel deposits from the fuel system and carbon from inside the engine safely. It also adds lubrication and controls moisture when added to diesel fuel at one ounce per gallon. Another use for Sea Foam in Diesel applications is cleaning fuel injectors. This is accomplished by getting engine to operating temperature then shut off. Remove the fuel filter (replace filter if needed.) Empty all diesel fuel from filter or filter housing and fill filter or housing with straight Sea Foam. Reinstall filter on engine, making sure there is no air in filter. Start engine and let run about two minutes, then shut engine off and let sit about 5 minutes. This is called a “HOT SOAK” letting the Sea Foam soak into the carbon. After the “hot soak” period, restart the engine and road test, driving aggressively for about 5 miles. This will clean carbon from the injectors and the combustion chamber inside the engine. Sea Foam can also be used in oil for cleaning the crankcase. Adding Sea Foam to your oil will clean oil deposits and varnish from your crankcase, free up sticky lifters and clogged oil control rings. Add Sea Foam to the oil at one pint to four gallons of oil. Then drive vehicle a minimum of one hour before changing oil. Sea Foam is very safe and effective in the ways described above. Most people that own and work on Diesel cars and trucks know that no liquids can be used through the air intake system of a Diesel engine including cleaners and starting fluids. If this is done to a Diesel engine it can cause major engine damage including Hydro-Lock or uncontrolled engine acceleration known as “RUN AWAY”. Do not add Sea Foam to the air intake of a Diesel engine!! If these simple instructions are followed, Sea Foam will effectively and safely clean your fuel system, injectors and the crankcase when used in Diesel engine applications.
