ISX I think has the range of degrees that a VP44 can move.As for the VP44 in stock form it can use the full range of advancement. It just the electronics give more ability to control it and get it advanced quicker. As for monitoring the timing position I would have to say that a DRBIII might be able to such thing. But most normal people don't have about $6,000 to toss out on a tool like that...:spend:I imagine all the Cummins tool should be able to see it too. Once again too spendy for normal people.
  2. Haven't done it yet, but it's on the mod list........ http://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/product/54/TruckBedRails
  3. That would've been me. I asked them (TD) about what exactly is done, and basically was told "If it ain't broke, it's reused" Plus the fact that the overflow valve is no longer included with the rebuilt pump (must buy new or re-use the old)... swayed me to DAP. (guaranteed NEW Bosch components). As for the 'It passed the 3 hour test, it MUST be good' theory, It STILL has X number hours from previous life. Heat and vibration have chewed into total service. How much life is left??? Might as well start out with Zero hours on the electronics.

I had this talk with my trans guy a while ago, and he said the only way to achieve 2nd gear lock up was to modify the valve body. He also advised against it in my case because I don't have billet shafts. According to him 2nd gear lock up is hard on a trans without the proper hard parts
