Bearing preload
Hopefully it works out right. I hammered a new nut on with my impact, then loosened it until the rotating torque was 17 ft lbs with no tires or drums. Old bearings.

Bearing preload
2000 2500 Dana 80 rear axle. What should my pinion bearing preload measure with tires and brake drums removed. I forgot to measure it before taking it apart.

Why Ubuntu
I'm currently running Debian on my home pc's. Believe I have raspberry pi lite on my raspi 4B. That has Open Media Vault installed to use it for my Network accessible storage. Took a bit to get everything working as I'm completely self taught. Been tossing around the idea of trying a different distro. Really been looking at Qubes OS as its designed to sandbox other distros, so I could try multiple to find what works best.

Future swap question for a 24V 6bt
If swapped to a p-pump, I'm really not sure what else there would be going on with it for it to be too much. If you p-pump it, its my understanding that you really have no reason to even have all the sensors n such that aren't on a 12v. Maybe I'm wrong.

Why Ubuntu
Just curious on your reasons for choosing the Ubuntu distro out of the many many available

Heat insulation
Great. Thanks for the prompt response.

Heat insulation
So my insulation between my tappet cover and ecm was completely shot. I'd there a real need to replace this?

Tappet cover breather?
Thank you. Knowing the reason behind it, I don't need to install one anyways. I've done the vent tube knob because of the oil. But then other stuff starting leaking oil shortly after. Hoping im getting most of it now.

Tappet cover breather?
I've seen that some of the tappet covers have a breather on them. Mine has a little box the sticks out near the back, with a plate there on the inside. No clue on the purpose of that. But just wondering if there would be any reason to add a breather there like some have

Heat exchanger
I'll check more deeply there than i have so far. I've been a member of both more quite a bit. Thank you.

Heat exchanger
Any idea what could be the problem with mine suddenly? Drove fine in the morning. Went to leave for work that evening and it won't move in any gear. Changed the governor pressure solenoid and sensor to no avail

Heat exchanger
I'm in southern MN, we also see temps like that regularly. my other 2 are manuals, but the family fits in this one. The biggest reason I'd like to keep this truck an auto is because its meant to be the camper hauler. Some of the campgrounds its just way easier backing in with an automatic. That being said, when i got in to go to work one day the truck just wouldn't move at all anymore. Changed the governor pressure solenoid and sensor to no avail. i'm not sure what to check further, haven't taken the time to research it. thinking of just pulling the trans and rebuilding it in my basement, possibly swap it to a full manual valve body.

Yoke Grenaded
Nope. Driveshaft was still spinning afterward

Yoke Grenaded
Haven't noticed a vibration. It had been a few months since I had the the driveshaft out. I keep it greased, but that u-joint had been kinda tight since the day I installed it. I don't do pulls or burnouts. (Tires are expensive af) Only thing I really do is get on it hard, but I never drop the clutch. I had my car trailer behind me (empty) and was taking off in 2nd. Had it revved up only a little bit and had let the clutch out nicely. It was actually completely engaged when the failure occurred. I'm hoping my driveshaft isn't ruined. Currently it is stuck in the transfer case. Hoping its just from getting kicked forward, but I fear it may have spun on the teeth. Haven't dropped the diff cover yet either as its been far too cold. But we're looking at 45ยบ on Tuesday so I'll be under it.

Yoke Grenaded
I picked this piece up from the intersection the next day. Thinking it was possibly cracked already as I don't think it would have gotten t that dirty in 1 day. Also. I tried searching as a 3500 and still could only find the strap style for the rear axle
