I looked at the rough countrys but couldnt find much infor on them and didnt see any rated for 8800, loved the price though.
  2. Could you regulate it to around 18 psi after bosch and before vp... Not sure how all this works so I am learning as I go, not trying to hijack his thread but just curious?
  3. I have noticed a few out there but I am always worried about messing with the fuel due to the touchy lp... Cant wait till I get the money for new pump, I know this is off topic but is there any lp setups that dont run 400+. Every time the piggy bank gets full someone wants a bbq.
  4. I am still relatively new to the diesel scene but I wonder if you could use that 30-90 psi bosch and just put a regulator between it and the VP44. Seems like that would be cheaper to do than buying a fass or ad and would still get the job dun. I have seen regulators on ebay for like less than 50 bucks and if you allready have a good pump I would think that would be the best of both worlds. Maybe not even notice any drop in psi under wot... Boy I hope I didnt just make my self look like a total noob.
  5. So for those of us that may not be wanting (or mechanicaly inclined enough) to tear apart our injectors is there any fuel additives that would be good to run to clean while inj are still in truck or would I risk damage to lp or ip?
  6. May or may not be of much help but I had a 97 powerstroke that did the same thing, although it was primarily on colder days, but it seems like once it warmed up everything was ok. I took it to a shop and they said injectors were clogged. Maybe have those checked, I know they put mine on a pressure test and 3 of them were bad. I here you on the ip, those are pricey and it seems like any time someone has a problem the finger always get pointed there. I would defenetly exhaust every other option before I go that route or take it to a shop and have them diagnose. Doesnt sound like IP to me but what do I know. Good luck.
  7. Yeah, I looked all over for some kind of side by side comparison on intakes, to no avail. I found some mags that did comparisons of CAI complete kits and most of those results were identical with marginal gains. I could not find any comparisons that included a BHAF and with the marginal results of the 300+ dollar kits I decided BHAF would give me what I was looking for. I got the aem brute force on EBAY for 140 shipped so I went with that. Keep your eye out there are deals to be had. Another one I was looking at was AFE stage 1 from amazon (111 and some change with free shipping) and then get their torque tube from parsleys for 79. I really didnt want that cause its oiled filter. Update: I am starting to finish my basement, got the bed full of 2x4x8's, turned up rear shocks, almost forgot I had a full bed of lumber. Big improvement when loaded. Before, you would know that you were hauling something, not by much, but I can definetly tell the difference.
  8. Yeah, I was expecting it to fill in a little more, but I think it looks good. I searched all over and could not find a pic of one installed so thats why I put up the vid. Got it out today and notice some modest improvement in the low end torque, more than I expected.
  9. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=39uKVaEwrmU ---------- Post added at 11:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:54 PM ---------- IT WORKED! Thanks ISX, kind of a dull clip but just wanted to have a reference out there that someone could look at to see if it would be something they want.
  10. Just out of camera frame is a cummins hooked to a tree given her hell. Just kidding.
  11. Well guys, after many many days of studying on which intake to get I finally decided to go with a BHAF. Then I was looking on ebay and found the AEM Bruteforce for a great price (not much more that I would have paid for BHAF and pre filter). Got it yesterday and installed it asap. Looks sharp and sounds great. Dry flow filter. Install was simple:thumbup2: I did notice a bit of improvement in acceleration and truck seems to wanna go a little more. Over all I am very satisfied with it. Just my .02. Just thought I would give a simple review for anyone thinking of getting it. I cant say if its any better or worse than BHAF since I have not tried BHAF as of yet but I do like how it looks sitting in there. I cant figure out how to upload short vid of it but its on youtube if anyones interested. just enter 2001 cummins aem bruteforce
  12. Sorry to here all that! Hopefully you get to know your shop man and maybe hell cut ya a deal.
  13. Yeah, I agree with mopar man. Watch these shops, they will rape you as fast as the feds. Stock up on bandaids and bust some knuckles is the only way I know to gaurantee I am not gonna get screwed.
  14. Good ole american enginuity!!! Put that in you pipe and smoke it NObama!!
  15. Never seems to fail, one thing after another. I feel your pain brother. Sometimes it seems like were just throwing money at these things just for something else to go out, and nothings cheap anymore.:banghead: If I could only find a spare 50K to get me a shiny new one that has one of those warranty thingys.
  16. Yeah, the price was the deciding factor for me between 5100's or 9000's. Everyone raves about the bilsteins so I am sure they are a great shock but with most of my driving being unloaded I wanted the ability to soften up the rear end a bit. Love em so far, and it even quieted my prego wife about riding in my rig.
  17. I agree, I hate having to constantly worry about my vp!!! My 01 does the same chirp almost every time.
  18. May or maynot be the answer but I just put on some rancho 9000 adjustables, set fronts on 5 and rears on 2. Its a night and day difference. Rides like I am fully loaded empty and when I do hook up or load bed up I just reach up under bed and turn the rears up and maintain ride quality. Extremely satisfied and rancho still has their promo of 100 bucks back on four so the grand total for all four corners was just over 200. Cant beat that.

Yeah, I like that av. People on this forum seem to be more open minded and not stuck on a certain brand of whatever your looking for.

What ever you do, do not go to cumminsforum for shock advice. If its not blue and yellow or silver and black they are not worth buying. I believe most shocks are going to get the job done but there is alot of brand snobery out there. Pick what you want, its your truck.

4wheelparts got me 4 rancho 9000xl's for 305 shipped, buy them now and send off for 100 dollar rebate and that puts me a 200 for all 4!!! 50 bucks a peice and I can adjust them for when I am loaded and unloaded. Rides awesome either way. Still looking to get incab adjuster but havent found one in my price range, yet... Its all about personal preference my friend, dont beat yourself up over it.
