Yes you remove the sending unit but you do not alter it like i had to. You need to see inside of the tank to see how far the drawstraw is, ( where to cut it to proper length ).

Just installed a airdog 150 w/ drawstraw 1 and short bed bracket. Would i do it again? No! not the way i did it this time. I would stay away from the drawstaw 1. It makes you remove the pickup from the sending unit (module) and install the drawstraw there. You have to reuse the grommet from your old unit., There isn't one in kit, but Dodge Dealer can find one with part number for about $17 plus shipping. I would have gone the way of leaving the sending unit alone and drill through tank for pickup tube and cut filler neck for return. My

I thought maybe and the dealer was going to let me roll off the lot with the camper but i was thinking if i have some one run into me or worst with me being overloaded i would be at fault and insurance company would just walk away.

Today went to Dealer to get a 2003 Elkhorn slide camper. It is a camper made for a short bed truck. The deal was done. Then i got the bright idea too weight my truck do to seeing that the camper weighed in at 2,745 lbs. The truck weighed in at 6,545 lbs. The total weight was 9.290 and put me 490 lbs over my GVWR of 8,800 lbs. So i had to break the deal.Now i know i have seen trucks like mine with even bigger camper on them. Are they setup in some special way? The dealer said airbags. But my thoughts are they would only make the load "happier" and not increase the GVWR. There is only 2,255 lbs to play with for the payload of my truck and there isn't too many NICE camper in that weight limit. I also tow a trailer with two quad weighing in at about 1,200 lbs total.Sorry for a long thread. Any thoughts?

I will see if i can get some pics today. Wish i didn't use the draw straw though. Had to use old grommet & lower fuel tank because it rub on the bottom of my bed. Should have put the pickup at the top of tank and return the fuel at the filler neck.

My Fuel tank is leaking at gromment where the drawstraw is at:banghead:. Need to pull the tank again. I have looked around the net and have not found a gromment to replace the one i have. Wrecking yard is next I guess. New module seem to have the plumbing cast into the housing ( no gromment ) so you could not modified it without breaking it. Before i put it back together i will take the number on the grommet down to Dodge part house and see if the will be able to find me one. If not .

Well i pulled the pan finally today and looked to be pretty clean. Trans has 50,000 on it. When i adjusted the band with the clicker it seemed to take quite a bit to get to 72 in lbs, then back off. It took 7 qts. to fill back up to full, just pulled pan. Now the shift seems to be soft, not as direct as before, all shifts. Should of left well enough alone:duh: and not adust them so soon and waited til 75,000.

Do you guys use a clicker style torque wrench to adjust the bands OR one of those battery operated w/ light style. Never adjusted bands before but back in school they had the light style. Is the clicker going to work right:pray:?

Peanut butter is licked off by the rodent, I like to use pecans halves held on to the trap with a little rubber band. When the tug on the nut it will be set off. Keep trap clean and replace them when they get messy. if they get wise, leave trap unset for a day or two and they will get use to the trap again as food. Don't use bait in your case because they might die in the cab somewhere.

The grommet in the kit was for airdog drawstraw, not vulcan. We are to use the one that you already have in your module. Carefully remove it. Mine was brittle and cracked, Used some permatex gasket/sealer to hold it together but think it might leak on a full tank.

Does anyone know where someone could find the gromment for the fuel tank where the plumbing (suction/ return) lines go into tank? Mine was in bad shape and need to replace soon. Went to Dodge and said they cannot get it because the have supercided it so many times:banghead:. They wanted to know if i had the number that is on the gromment and they could search but it is torn there. Anyone have there tank exposed so they can see the number? Or have a location on where to get one? Any help would be greatful.

I have had another issue, while putting the fuel tank back in with the newly installed Drawstraw I, there wasn't enough room between the top of the drawstraw and the bottom of the bed. I had to lower the fuel tank 1/4" to get clearance. i used some styrofoam on top and spacer at the mounts. No big thing just glad i caught it before i broke something.

have not added anything. been driving it for awhile now and have not have any issues since i reset the APPS. Thanks everyone for your help:thumb1:. Is there anyway you can service the torque converter, i mean to change the fluid from it? I would like to have fresh fluid thoughout.

Been awhile, about 25000. Went to find ATF Type IV today to see how much $3.99 at wally world for there brand but only had a few quarts. $6 everywhere else local. is anything wrong w/ wal-mart stuff?

what was found, Autozone does not check for codes , BAR sued for doing so. Trans problem seemed to be better on the highway but after driving 10 miles it would act up again slightly, at 45 mph at 1400 rpm then jump to 1500 quickly, What else could it be?? --- Update to the previous post... Ok went back to double check and pdone did come up twice with no codes.
