  1. I've been doing some shopping for an exhaust system but not sure what to get. I have a buddy with a 2nd gen 24 valve that built his own 5" and just put in a muffler from a big truck. Sounds really awesome but he complains about having a bad drone in the cab. Another friend has a 3rd gen with a 4" system (not sure what brand it is) and he complains about the drone too. The cab drone is my biggest concern since I do some fairly heavy pulling and I don't want to have to wear ear plugs:lol:
  2. I have all the stuff to change my tranny oil and just wondering about flushing lines, draining torq, (if possible) etc. My question is if I just drain the pan what about all the other old oil in the system to contaminate the new?
  3. You asked the question I was going to ask next:thumb1: The other thing I wonder about is how are guys getting improved mpg's if the BTU's are down due to the cetane boost? Even my neighbor is talking of a noticable improvement in his highway tractor.
  4. Off topic but how did you put that link in there for the MSDS on that stuff:shrug: I tried but couldn't figure it out:banghead:
  5. I've been reading all about 2 cycle oil and now I'm wondering if anybody has experience with or can you tell me anything about how Powerup Gen49 fuel additive measures up. http://www.powerupusa.net It's supposed to be the real deal and I have a neighbor who sells it so it's real handy for me to get.
  6. I ordered my seal kit from Hoesli Diesel today for the $10.76. My local Dodge dealer wanted $152 for it:spend:
  7. Thanks for the help there Prowelder:thumbup2: I hate to think how I'd manage if it wasn't for all the good help I get here:)
  8. So do you remove it from the top or the bottom? It looks to me like it's in a nasty place to get at:shrug:
  9. I'm just wondering about where the vaccum pump is. Is it bolted to the block with the power steering pump attached to it? I have a leak happening in there and just want to verify that i'm on the right track.
  10. Would you be able to clarify both issues for me?
  11. I've been wondering if it would be possible to rig up something to lock up my tc whenever I want. If possible are there dangers in doing this?
  12. I read that the Luke's Link won't work on a moog replacement bar. I wonder if there's a way to tell if that's what mine is. I've never had to work on it since I got the truck.
  13. Well it's time for a new track bar. Just wondering what you guys would recommend.
  14. Thanks Wild and Free. That was the vent hose I was working on. Went to the neighbor who has a 1500 and it was the same on his. Now that everything is warmed up and thawed out the 4x4 seems to be working again. Am going to take it out and try it pretty soon.
  15. I have finally had time to put my truck inside and work on this problem. But i can't find where the line came disconnected from:banghead: Its a fairly big rubber line coming off the CAD about 2 feet long with a connector attached to the loose end. I've looked and looked under there but can't find a home for it. Any ideas? Thanks!
  16. I have some kind of electrical problem cuz I can go underneath and cross the 2 terminals on the starter and the truck starts but I get nothing with the key. Any suggestions where I should look?
  17. I got my dealer to unlock the high idle and then i built the fooler (as my sig says). Been well worth it:thumbup2:
  18. Hey I've got a question about prefilling filters whether they be fuel or oil. What about the unfiltered oil/fuel that enters the engine? Any concern here? Not sure if this is the proper thread for this question:shrug:
  19. 10 4. The 4x4 indicator on the dash doesn't work now either. Does that make any difference to your diagnosis?
  20. Will do. Is that maybe where the line (vaccum i'm assuming) would be from that was hanging down this morning? It comes from some valve thingy attached to the right side of the axle tube. I couldn't figure out what that thing was and didn't see where it had broke off from. I did notice it had an electrical plug on it.
  21. Now I have problems with my 4X4. I was driving in some deep snow and there was this small clunk and no more 4x4:banghead: Shifter works fine and there's no visable problems. Any suggestions what might have happened or where to look first?
  22. Could you send me his website or a link? The only THRacing I come up with is a motorcycle guy in Texas.
  23. I've got a buddy that bought a truck that has a FASS 150 fuel pump and he's trying to find new filters for it. Anybody know of a place in Canada where he could get them? Lots of options south of the 49th but I can't seem to find anything up here.
