  1. Has anyone verified that running higher fuel pressure to the IP gives more fuel return to the tank? Has anyone verified that more fuel return equals more IP cooling?
  2. Same here. But if you still want the warning light I can give you a good deal on the one I got (but didn't install) before I got on here and learned the truth about fuel pressure.
  3. I looked for a DIY boost elbow and came across this Dawes Device unit. It sounds like the real deal but does anybody know if they're better than anything else?

  7. Can anybody give me filter numbers (fleet guard, etc) for a FASS 150? I've got a friend that needs some and I thought I'd seen a number cross-over somewhere but I can only find it for the Airdog pumps.
  8. Are you talking any kind of heat shield or just filter sitting there beside the turbo?
  9. I just heard back about my tranny and the problem was a sticky solenoid that controlled the lockup so I'm up and running again.
  10. TC and valve body all done when the thing was rebuilt a month ago as was the cable I'm quite sure. Mostly I was wondering if what I did with the electronics (mystery switch, possible poor connection on the temp sensor wire) could have caused a problem.
  11. It is slipping at higher speeds. Hardly noticable without a trailer but very noticable with a trailer. And I can notice when it trys to lock up but it seems to be slipping. It seems to only do it when the oil warms up good like 120+. No power adders on the truck.
  12. I got my tranny rebuilt about a month ago and the tc lockup has been acting up. It sometimes locks and sometimes it feels like it is partly locked:cry: I took it back to the tranny shop for a checkup and he's pretty puzzled by what it is doing. I did play around with a mystery switch and I'm wondering if there's any way that I could have messed something up. In the process of this I had the center plug on the powertrain module off to tap into the black/orange wire and I broke off the pin on the wire from the trans temp sensor. I kind of got it back together but could a bad connection on that circuit have caused a problem like I have? I'm sure hoping not cuz I want the problem to be covered by warranty:whistle:
  13. I'm getting a power puck for my truck and I'm wondering about boost fooling with it. Does it do that and should I be getting a boost elbow too?
  14. I seem to have lost significant mileage since I put on my Airdog and Toyo Open Country M/T's 285/75/16. I can't see the pump doing anything so would the more aggresive, slightly over-sized tires do it? I can't say exactly how much it's dropped but I'd say between 2 and 4 mpg's. The truck had 265's on before I went to the 285's.

  16. I just got my truck home from getting the tranny rebuilt and am thinking it might be time to add some horses soon. How much can I add? The guy that built the tranny was saying I could add 50 horse but not more. Talked about the possibility of breaking shafts. I was hoping I could hop it up more than that. He changed up the valve body and put in a twin disc converter which he said was rated for 900 ft/lbs torque. How much power would you guys say I could add?

  18. It sure does answer my question but now I'm pretty intrigued with that waste gate actuator. How did you do that? Is it something I could do? And is it doing the same job as a boost elbow or something different yet?
  19. A little more boost, perhaps 4 to 5 psi might be tolerated, but trying for 20psi could be flirting with disaster. So in the light of that what happens when we put on boost foolers and boost elbows and get 15 to 20 psi more boost out of our stock turbos?
  20. I wasn't sure where to post this but I'll do it here. I had a guy tell me that a turbo charged engine will make more horse power with a muffler than with a straight pipe because a turbo works on back pressure. Is that true? I always thought it was volumn of air flowing thru it so therefore a freer flowing exhaust system would make more power. Can anybody clear this up?
  21. Thanks for the advice. Just wondering what the torque rating of my truck would be? I'm getting my tranny rebuilt at a very reputable shop. He's doing upgrades for towing and said the torque converter he puts in is a twin disc and rated for 900 ftlbs.

  23. I'm actually not sure what I'm looking for. Can't decide so I'd like some ideas on what is good and what is not. Right now my truck is in the tranny shop:banghead: so i won't have money for this for a while but I'd like to know for when I'm ready.
