Can you fill me in on why you want to or need to what you're talking about:shrug:- Hello everyone
Welcome and yes there's plent of info here. I've learned a lot:thumb1:- High Idle
They're talking about on 2nd gen 24 valve trucks. These engines have programming that shuts fuel off to 3 cylinders thus creating a 'load' on the engine for faster warm ups. The ecm reads IAT and ECT temps to determine if it's cold enough to activate it. These trucks don't have the ability to set the idle with the cruise like the 3rd gens do. Maybe someone can give a better explanation if you need.- Cold in Tx
You should just move farther north for warmer temps. Wind chill is only -27 here. Temp is -13- 2001 cummins transfer pump voltage
Sorry I can't help with your problem but welcome to the forum and what part of Canada are you from?- Borgeson Steering Shaft and Gearbox
Is the Borgeson box the only 3.3 turn box out there? I want to do this upgrade as soon as the $ permit so I want to start shopping. Seems to me I saw one somewhere that was maybe 12:1 ratio and the Borgeson is 14:1 right? --- Update to the previous post... Can anybody help me out here?- Fuel prices thread...
$1.17 a litre here which is $4.42/US gallon.- front axle u joints
Thanks W+F. You put it into the words I wish I could have but that is pretty much what I was thinking.- Borgeson Steering Shaft and Gearbox
Good to know since I was just thinking about this today.- Steering column gauge mount?

That's awesome, thanks! I've done some looking for a lift kit but could never find anything. Glad you came around here:lol:- Steering column gauge mount?
That's lovely:thumb1: Are there more like it available?- Time for ball joints, alignment
Well I took the truck in today. The guy called back and said that he can't get the camber to the specs on the article that MnTom posted without the offset bushings. Those are 3 weeks away so now I don't know what to do, just do it without them or wait. Any ideas? Will not having the camber to those specs make as much diff as if he couldn't get the caster right? Thanks- Engine Building
Read this, it might help you. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/3126-Suggested-Upgrades-for-Diesels?highlight=order+upgrades- Howdy from western NY
Thanks. Ya i've got a Jetta. 01 TDI with Van Aaken box. I love the car except that it doesn't have enough clearance for our gravel roads. Wish I could get an inch or two lift on it.- strange code
That makes sense cuz when I really root on it the tach jumps around. Thanks- strange code
I have code 0336. Can somebody tell me what it is? I picked it up with the Scangauge, it didn't show with the key trick. A search here didn't produce anything. Thanks- Greetings from the 'Great American Desert"
Welcome! Lots of help here and you'll find your shade tree a little adicting once you get working on your rig:thumb1:- Time for ball joints, alignment
Thanks for all the useful info here guys, it really helps. I guess I'm still wondering if I should get the offsets ball joints to fine tune it even more or at least make sure it can meet the specs. Or will it be no problem to meet them with just the regular ones? I just have to wonder since some1 made them and some guys use them and say they help. I'm afraid of spending all the money and not doing it EXACTLY the best way possible.- Time for ball joints, alignment
So what about the offset bushings that it talks about? Are they needed for sure or just possibly? Do they have to put it all together and do an alignment to find out and then tear down and put them in if needed? Thanks for putting up with all the questions:duh:- Time for ball joints, alignment
So what should I know heading into this project? I came across this somewhere (maybe it was even here somewhere, can't remember) and wonder what you guys say about it. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/tdrarticles/tdrarticle53_fromtheshopfloor.html I plan to go with Moog parts. What about the alignment, I understand that getting things set precisely is important on these trucks. I have a serious wandering problem and hope to gain a lot of ground with this problem.- Howdy from western NY
Mr.mindless, what was it that you did to your track bar? Sounded like it must've been a simple and cheap fix.- front axle u joints
But don't overgrease. I've heard stastics that overgreasing causes more damages than not enough as it is hard on the seals. Just my - HX35 turbine wheel
