Looking for the canada part of
What part of Nova are you from? I just married a girl from Berwick (Annapolis Valley) the end of August. I'm from Manitoba. That was a long drive back with a little U-Haul behind my VW:ahhh:

Asking for a friend
Ok thanks. The guy selling the truck has the seal but hasn't been able to change it so that's covered.

Asking for a friend
I have a friend that's looking at an 01 dodge cummins and he's asking me some questions. Now he says it has a fuel leak on the vp44 behing the inspection cover. I think he means the cover that has the tamper proof screws holding it. Is this a concern or can he just change a gasket or seal and not worry about it? It also has a cracked exhaust manifold so I suppose that means it's been run too hot. Any concerns there?

Auto High Idle?
I have the fast idle activated on my truck. I'm just wondering about the 'not good to idle til it's warm part' If it's -20 should I just go ahead and drive or let it idle for a while?

Auto High Idle?
How cold is it ok to do this? I nearly always plug it in when it gets cold but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Like sometimes it'll be as cold as 10 without being plugged in. It sure rattles if I start driving at that temp.

Track bar repair question
Well my experience with it wasn't good at all. Mine didn't last too long and I had to either buy a new one or upgrade the track bar.

Passat with no heat in cab
Thanks, I went there and got some good help. Now I have excellent heat when driving or when the car is parked but idling at or above 1200 rpm. Any time rpm drop below 1200 I can feel a drop in temp, even tho my SGII shows no drop in coolant temp.

2nd Edge Ez in the Can
Interesting cuz I have a friend here with an EZ that quit working. I'll maybe tell him about this.

Passat with no heat in cab
Engine warms right up so I'd be surprised if it's a thermostat but... And there is good velocity of air coming out the vents.

right front axle seal replacement
Your truck must have a different axle than mine or else you're pretty talented with a hammer:lol: I had about a 2" by 3" hole to to work in so it's pretty hard to swing a tapper in that. So I cut a circle the size of the seal out of a some 1/4" plate, drilled a hole in the center and used a piece of threaded rod to pull it in.

Passat with no heat in cab
Yes there is a good change from hot to cold, just the hot isn't very hot. So I'm thinking the blend door is ok. I'll check the hoses.

Passat with no heat in cab
I have an 05 VW Passat TDI and I'm not getting much heat in the cab. Just wondering if anyone here can shed some light on what I could look for myself. Had it to the dealer, they said they'd fixed it and took some of my money but it still doesn't heat.

right front axle seal replacement
That sounds like an excellent idea:thumb1:

right front axle seal replacement
My right front axle seal is leaking and I'm wondering how to change it. I have the CAD apart and I can see myself getting the old one popped out but driving a new one in looks a little difficult. Does Dodge have a special tool to do this?

Oil pan removal
Had no trouble at all. When I finally had time to work at it again it went together really quick. I ended up using a gasket cuz I'd bought one.

Oil pan removal
Well I got the truck back together tonight so thanks for all the help guys!

Oil pan removal
I like that idea but how did you do the balancing act of holding the pan up there, getting the oil pick-up tube in place and tightened, then mounting the pan without getting it smeared everywhere? That looks like the most daunting part to me:doh:

Oil pan removal
Well I got the pan out and cleaned up. Now I'm wondering what is the best way to install the new gasket? I'm thinking I should fasten it to the block with some silicone but not sure if this is a good idea. Also wondering what the torque specs are for the main bearings. I pulled one to check for wear.

Oil pan removal
Hmmm. I thought I had it that high but I'll go have another look. Will keep you posted on progress but there might not be any now for a few days. Thanks all for now:thumb1:

Oil pan removal
Thanks guys! Another problem I have is getting it to clear the bell housing but hopefully it'll do that when I can get the engine lifted the 3 inches. Any thoughts on what I need to remove/disassemble to get it lifted that far?
-
Oil pan removal
Thanks! But how much stuff do I need to remove to get that much lift? I don't have it up 3 inches yet and it stopped moving.

Oil pan removal
How do I get the oil pan off my truck? The gasket has been leaking for a while and it's made a serious mess under there:duh: So I loosened the engine mounts and lifted the front of the engine as high as it would go. Still not enough clearance underneath to slide the pan out. What do I need to do to get it done?

Installing New ECM, anybody know where I can get a cheap ECM?
I just got one from here. www.goecm.com By the look of it it was a rebuilt one but it's working great so far. Comes with a 1 year warranty. I had the same problem you're having, can't find them anywhere. When I ordered mine the guy told me they're getting pretty rare and they had only 2 left.

Texas Heat
Nice! I love the pic of the lease road since I've worked in oil field construction building leases. But we've got nothing like that here:ahhh: Around here they're going like mad into the Bakken so we see all that equipment around here but I've never known some of the details you wrote about.

Texas Heat
No brown pasture here. Knee high or better and you have to be carefull not fill your rubber boots when checking cattle:duh: I hope you get some rain cuz we have more than enough.
