Could someone help me understand this diagram? I'm having a really hard time following the flow of current through it. I bought a DPDT relay today and was hoping to wire up a system like this tomorrow. Here's just like what I got if it helps.

I tried attaching a pic of the wiring diagram of the relay but all that shows is that little red x, not sure why.
