I am thinking of removing the CAT & replacing w/ a twister/res. will this be quieter then i have now? [cat. + 24'' strait through muffler] noise now is 'enough', drone is what i am tired of ! all done! kinda disappointed.. no one came by...maybe breeze wasnt right! hams are in the bags... butcher took the bones out so we can get it sliced as sandwich meat in the back is the canadian bacon, my favorite! dryer, yes, but just good! one reason we smoke our own meat is, most butchers use preservitives & we prefer not to.

well,..Todd called! 1st week of july. he will advise me but it sounds like he will do just about anything that i want.... we will see!

no muffler?! no wonder your ears needed help! is this some quieter then a strait pipe? Resonator, is this a twister? [auger flighting wrapped around small pipe?] it sure looked like a cat, wire mesh inside. my muf. is a strait though w/ packing inside the 'barrel',low back psi, but, a bit loud!

Yes, thats what it is..... a chest freezer set on end [up right] w/ a 8;; elec. stove top burner [w/controler] under a drip tray [VERY IMPORTANT!!!! 'i know!] . then a 5'' stove pipe exh. [no drone here! , just drooling neighbors .... ........] with chimney damper, racking to hang ham & bacon and a lock to keep mopar friends out! [they just might burn fingers & such.... ...] as i type, i just started adding hickory chips to the pan on top of burner......stong stuff!! burns the eyes! but wait till the smoking is about done!! oh, yeah!! sizzle!

I have an 04.5 ram with this exh. in place....CAT back [for now at least] all 4'' piping w/ 24'' flo-pro strait through muffler & pipe exits at back,right side. At 1800 to 2300 rpms, at med+ throttle i have drone! At idle, the exh. has a full, throaty sound, plenty noise for me. expecily when backed up to a building where sound bounces off. The under hood noise is much better then 2nd gen, but exh. [while diff.] is still THERE if wanted to be! Tell me what works for you! i have thought about adding the 2nd muffler or adding a 'twister' . I dont know how much the CAT helps [if at all] the CAT could be replaced w/ a twister....... I'M ALL EYES!!!!! YOU, HAVE A GREAT DAY!

would you know,... why do some folks use 03 tips on 600 cummins? what is the purpose? i think i read that bbi does this.......maybe i was way to tired & read between the lines that happens. i'm not nessesarily planing to go this route, i just like to 'check the map' before i travel....less opp's that way! did some digging last nite & seems some folks blamed this practlce for smoking more thanks!

wow, when i rebuild my tractors eng. [john deere] i also reused the head bolts & thats where the 'fun' began, i had some stretch [wouldnt torque to ft. #] but the 1st one that did this just wouldnt get tite so i just kept turning. .......& then SNAP!! NOW WHAT!!!! thank fully i was able to just back it out w/ a sharp chisel........whewww! point of lesson, dont just use them....check them 1st! and if they dont get tight, stop!

G-DAY TO ALL! i have the 04.5 Cummins and would like to uncover more facts/understanding about inj. nozzle spray angles. my inj. seem fine, but i [& perhaps you] want to sort out some questions on inj. options BEFORE i'm needing to replace. A rather expensive replacement part!! Lets do it right! as the title says, some use 03 inj. on 04.5+ eng. i'm thinking of a moderately mod.ed eng. [not 500++ hp] would i lose hp [305 vs 325 hp]? at what hp level dos the spray angle become a danger? [assuming it does] ........................................................................

I am ready to have my 48RE auto. serviced & improved.... there are many shops around.... who do you recommend? so far iv worked with Todd @ Bench Tech Trans in Terre Hill. he has a 05 w/ lots of work done to it & says he loves to work on these trannys, a + in my mind! ok, who from MM is out there in MY neck of lanc. county.... ..... dave,[or does he have a manuel?]...... ........................................................?
