At 10psi my 98.5's turbo got on my nerves! [no silencer ring]

I AGREE the hx35 is TO loud [i never had a ring in mine] NOW i have a quiet cr cummins & i just HAD to take the ring out so i could hear the turbo! just about right! While i like diesel/turbo sounds, i always wear ear plugs when i'm in the field on my open station tractor, not as wearing on me IN REPLY TO ME---i see;, yes, if ring is part of housing.... yup! leave it in... no worries, just me ....having fun IN REPLY TO WILL BILL---3000 $ wow! do your stuff , my wonderful earplugs!!!!! Ok ok ,...i confess...when i put a turbo on my tractor the muf. didnt fit anymore... strait pipe!...but not for long! to much of a good thing!

THANK-YOU! you didnt disappoint my 'poke' for answers! From my reading i agree that the triple disc TC is more 'bang for buck' then a hd single. We are so apt to up our power when we get used to what we have then the single disc cant hold anymore..... On transgo, my local shop said he put these in trucks, i expect this to be cheaper then a 'new' valve body... could you give a bit more insite on this?? I will be setting a date for my trans to be worked on this week . Would you throw out a 'ball park' $ amount for your suggested build, please? I like to prepare myself for the $ shock [somewhat] THANKS MY FRIEND!! HAPPY HUMMIN W/ YER CUMMINS!!

The build date on trans. tag says this= 338 07 ????

208,000 miles....i dont know if its factory trans. there is a tag on trans w/ a date on it . i can check this....if the date is after 2004 [i think it is] would this tell me that trans. has been replaced? thank-you!! valve body mod.= would this be the TRANS-GO shift kit i read about?

My 04 ram was a ST model & had a 'lovely' black grille [hence the black bumper cover] , NO GO! ugly! i told my wife it make the truck like a blue heeler! [blue body w/ black nose] SO, a chrome grille cover [shell] was close to the top of my list! i found mine @ DISCOUNT BODY PARTS [ ], thought i got a good deal @ $70. but it looks like you get the trophy! BUT, it sure makes the front end look SMOOOOTH! [hope your grill's quality is good, mine was.] Mine also didnt come w/ the ram head but i was able to save my old one,. i did destroy the old grill to get it off. used my air powered die grinder!

Well its the farmer boy again,.... i sold the 98.5 ram now NOW i got the $ & its time to service the trans. The pan gasket leaks The oil needing a change [dark] The shifting [more so under lite throttle] is vague/etc. feels like more then 3 'under drive' gears, not firm/sure. It seems the TC is extra loose, more rpms then 'i' think necessary to get moving. i hardly tow as of now. HERE IS WHAT I HAVE; SMARTY JR / AIR FLOW IMPROVEMENTS / i want to be able to 'sensibly' USE the power for driving [surprise!!] ,towing, & running down groundhogs. YOUR TURN!
