  1. I have some bad news... the abs light came back on... It was fine for a week driving back and forth 2 hours a day, then i started it today and the abs light came on as i was pulling away. Does anyone have any experience in code readers that will read abs on these trucks? My 300 dollar autel abs scanner wont do it. I really dont want to take it to the dealer again so they can spend 2 minutes reading a code for 100 dollars. I know that the chrysler tru star scanner would for sure work, but anything in the price range for a diyer?
  2. Update: After a few days with the repaired abs module, the light went away. One more thing off the list
  3. Should I get a scanner that can reset abs codes and see if it comes back?
  4. So I've had my abs light on for over a year now. I replaced the front wheel sensors, the rear speed sensor and the wheel bearings. I gave up and took it to the dealer and they determined that the module was bad, so I sent it into sia electronics to have it repaired. Installed the rebuilt module in the truck and I still have the light. I'm too deep to give up now but what other variable could be causing this?
  5. I mean it is pretty old at this point, but its only been on there for 50k miles. It does weep fuel, so maybe it's just fried now? How long do these pumps usually last, because they're not cheap.
  6. So just probe the power wire with a tester while the pump is running? Whats good like 3 amp?
  7. Sorry ive been dealing with my jeep too, so I'm just getting back to this. Chrysler products ya know? I've used both 30 and 40 amp relays. They work on the first start but when I go to start it again, I get no fuel pressure and the pump stops working. I'm not sure if the coil or contacts are bad. The first relays I could literally rattle, but the most recent relays weren't obviously blown, but were. I haven't done an all drawn test yet. Also why isn't the fuse blowing, but the relay is? Thanks
  8. Update on this. I spliced in another relay socket because the other one was fairly corroded. Put in a new relay and it doesn't work the next morning. I'm at a loss for what to do next. I can only assume that my pump is blowing these relays some how, but it doesn't sound unhealthy. Might have to take it some where.
  9. Hmm could you give me a link to a protective relay?
  10. No but i can do that. I just take them out and rattle them to confirm they're blown. The first one blew a couple years ago when moisture got in the socket. The pump doesn't sound abnormal or anything and the filters are new. I'm also not great with electronics so I might buy just buy a new harness for the fass. Or I can splice in a new socket
  11. The harness came with the fass system. But if it was wired wrong it wouldn't have taken 6 years to show, right?
  12. Ill double check where the fass harness plugs in to the stock lift pump connector, that's the only spot I haven't checked yet.
  13. I have a fass 165 gph that I've had on my truck since 2014. Lately every other time I start my truck I have no fuel pressure and it stumbles. I replace the relay in the wiring harness but it does it again. What's weird is that the fuse isn't blowing but the relay is. Relays aren't cheap I need to figure this one out. Any ideas?
  14. Here's sound from mine idling recently. Yours might be a little worse but they're similar. 20191227_192311.mp4
  15. Sounds like a bad injector. You could try and isolate the noise with stethoscope and swap injectors around. Ive been chasing an engine noise myself.
  16. Its p1694. Failure reading between pcm and ecm
  17. I'm now getting the p0216 code and a lost communication to ecm code.
  18. Yes it starts like its 0 degrees outside when its 50. Also another weird thing happened today. When I had my obd reader connected I got a "no buss" message on the odometer. The message went away after unplugging the reader.
  19. Ive had a fass Ive had a fass 165 on there for 5 years. Has fuel pressure and the pump is working. Truck is completely gutless no matter what the edge is on and low rpm wants to die. I checked over their work and nothing obvious stands out. My pump is original with 155k on it. I just don't understand why it would die with adequate fuel pressure
  20. I don't know what to do now. Make them figure it out or tear into it myself
  21. Sorry, I meant p0216. P0230 is on there but that's from when I pulled the lift pump off of it when putting in the fass
  22. Update: I took it back and of course they couldn't find anything. They saiid they made sure the vp44 was set right and that the timing was fine. I took the truck back and it still has an the issues. I'm also getting the dread p0230 code for injection pump timing. Do you think this is a coincidence or did they some how damage the timing piston on the injection pump? Ive head a steady 14 psi to the pump for 5 years.
  23. I can never find a diesel tech in louisville ky that works on pick ups. They're all a couple hours outside of the city. Though if anyone knows one I would greatly appreciate it.
  24. Yep. The whole purpose was to get my truck leak free real quick without me having to wait for a free weekend, but that plan doesn't work to well when they break more than they fix
