Engine block heater timer
My truck is parked in the garage at night. It usually doesn't get below 50 in there. Even so, with it plugged in for two hours before I leave, I get heat much faster than waiting for the truck to warm up from 50 degrees. Plugged in it usually is about 110 when I start the truck.

When do you buy a new starter ?
I used to have an 1984 Bronco II that would go through a starter a year. Tried NAPA, a year later back for another. Did that twice, then went to Autozone. Same thing, just a lifetime warranty instead of NAPA's one year warranty. I figure I will be doing my Cummins gefore too much longer at 140k miles.

New Generation of GPS...
I have had a Garmin for over three years. I find it really helps with areas I am not familiar with. That being said, it has told me to go down one way streets the wrong way several times. Use a map, your eyeballs, and a decent GPS and you can get just about anywhere safely.

Clutch master/slave bad?
I put a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder in this morning. Used Moparman's bleeding trick, which worked well for me. The test drive showed everything to be shifting properly. I will give it a few days to make sure, but it looks like it is fixed now.

Steering wheel locked up while driving! Yikes!
I have read that having a heavy key ring is hard on the ignition switch. I usually only have the truck key and a house key on that ring. Since I bought my truck used, I will have to check and see if the plugs are in the back of the steering wheel.

Anyone Do This In Really Cold Weather?? 4x4 Only
One thing it might do is to help the tranny warm up faster, making it a little easier to shift when it is really cold out, and the truck has been sitting in the cold all day/night.

Engine block heater timer
Make sure you get a timer that has a three wire connection, not a two wire. The heater plug is a three wire (with ground). I use one that is rated at 1800 watts resistive that works great.

Clutch master/slave bad?
I figure I will try this first, as it is cheaper/easier than pulling everything apart. If it does not work, then the tranny/transfer case will be coming out so I can see what the problem is.

Clutch master/slave bad?
Had the truck over in St. Louis today. While driving around, I discovered that I was having a problem shifting, especially when stopped. I had to put the truck into neutral to stop, shut off the engine to put it into second, start the engine, then go. Upshifts were not much of a problem. Downshifts were shaky, as sometimes they were ok, other times it would not downshift. I ordered new clutch master and slave cylinders from Autozone. O'Reilly's couldn't get them for 5-7 days. No NAPA here. Autozone had the slave in stock, the master cylinder will be here tomorrow. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks.
