  1. I have ended up with a 71/71/15 non wastegated t4 k29 borgwarner turbo. Anyone on here ever run one? I assume it's to small to run in a compound set up. But I'm wondering how it would run as a single ? Truck is purely a street truck that gets used on weekends I dont ever tow with my truck maybe once or twice a year only light loads.
  2. I've changed the canbus fueling I've put the truck back to stock no change in my TC lock up issue.
  3. @Dynamic any insight? Also what could you price me a built VB without solenoids etc as mine are all new? Does this issue sound like a VB issue? Price including shipping and core charge please. Shipping to the UK
  4. It effects the TC lock up but only via throttle input. I've removed the quad and it made zero difference its deffinatly something in the trans
  5. But shouldn't TC lock on the switch and not unlock until the switch is turned off??
  6. Strange one I posted recently about not getting lock up when I should, put it down to the quad. I changed the tune slightly that journey TC locked perfect throughout. Next day truck was same as before not locking up at all at times. Fitted a mystery switch. TC will only lock up if I flick the switch and back off the throttle once locked it holds perfectly. To unlock I flick the switch off and have to release the throttle again? Anyone shed any light into this? Oh and the TC will lock on under acceleration if the switch is on and at WOT... I've checked the switch circuit tested good and checked down to pin 7 on the trans. When I rebuilt this box I didn't change the wiring or solenoids so I have ordered these to change as they are original. I done the GM solenoid upgrade that DNJ sell, shift kit, firepunk stage 2 internals with a triple disc. This issue really only started when the quad was installed but it seems even with the box on 0 I still have an issue. What inputs are needed to lock the converter ? Speed sensor or anything like that?
  7. I've bumped my timing to above stock headbolts like OP etc my truck loves it faster much lower EGTs etc these safe enough to DD and get loud pedal to the floor? Cheers
  8. @Mopar1973Man what is this backdown % on the data log it was backing down 45% after messing around I've gotten that down to 16% but what causes this even with no defuel setting on I got a backdown %.. thanks
  9. Yeah new turbo I'm hitting 40 psi now I've adjusted the elbow which helped highest egt I've hit was locked on motorway up hill it touch 1400 but that was really giving it. I've altered the canbus fuel around the top end up and down and it's pretty close to where it needs to be I think. Cruise up hill locked at 70 I'm at 800f which I didn't think was bad around 650 on the flat cruise.
  10. I went 285 65 17 in the end. I've upped the boost via the boost elbow I'm going to up it a touch more 5psi helped a lot. What altitude do you guys live at and do you use more fuel in your tunes or less I've found a fair few of them tunes black out the road behind coming onto boost. I'm at sea level. The tow tune is lovely just hits 1250 degrees at top of 3rd and 4th gear empty on the flat. It runs lovely off the bottom.
  11. Found the tow tune linked above works the best just having trouble with egts I've turned to boost up 7psi via the elbow. Thing I find strange is I've gone from 60hp sticks to 150hp sticks and made no more boost yes it spools harder and makes boost faster. It has helped with more boost should I back down some fuel to try keep them in check? What's a safe number to run at EGT wise at WOT thanks
  12. Well new tyres are on truck drives so much better. Rear end isn't as loose as I thought but it will peel them off on the loud pedal trying a few of these tunes smokes like hell pre boost but clears up nice egts still hit 1250 when pedal is on the floor
  13. Yeah they are a lot lighter than the 315s ? then things are like a lorry tyre
  14. Not a huge difference between sizes so hopefully egts stay in check!
  15. Nice I.went for 285/65/17 size tyre will be fitted Thursday
  16. Excellent I will try them over the next couple of weeks and see how it goes I'm just pricing some smaller tyres and put my spare ones up for sale ?? I'm going for a 275 70 17 I think now. It will be nice for some hard acceleration again! The 315s really took the legs out of my truck although with these 150s and turbo set up they break loose which they didn't before hand
  17. Yeah but it will be a fair bit better than what's on now. Re gear over here is well over priced so i will keep coming down on tyre sizes... this tune you sent is it safe to beat on
  18. I will burn these 2 sets off and go down too a 285 or so thanks
  19. I did but didn't find anything too close I copied a tune that I see posted on here in 2016 but I'm still struggling with egts on hard pulls! It runs awesome just egts are making the quad back down Yeah it's a shame as I love the tall tyres! I have a spare set of the 315s too so I wont be going smaller anytime soon any other ways to help bring egts down for the time being?? Other than a re gear as that would be a fortune to do over here ? The truck runs great with these injectors I'm really happy just want to cool her down some.. thank you.
  20. Looking for some help making a tune for 7x10 sac injectors and 56/62/12 turbo. Ideally a race tune and a DD tune I run 315/70/17 tyres and 3.55 gears im struggling with EGTs climbing. Can someone help me out with a basic tunes I can work with? My altitude is sea level too 1000ft above there abouts. I have a 4inch straight pipe too. Quadzilla V2 Thanks
  21. @Mopar1973Man makes perfect sense! So how common are mystery switches is it a mod that pretty much everyone does??
  22. Sorry just seen this my issue turned out to be a failed column switch I think you guys call the a multi function stick? Hope this helps!
  23. @Evan haven't taken any pressures yet haven't had time ? it locks perfect with the quad off. Lockup with or without the quad feels nice and firm. Just seems to lock up 'later' or sometimes with the quad turned up it locks up under very light throttle input. With the quad on it will lock just using more power or going uphill. I've not really seen anyone else with this problem. But I don't know how common using a lock up switch is. Nearly no rams here in the UK.
  24. Mine 'skipped' and chattered for 5 or so years (back when this truck was owned by my dad)... started off only skipping when on full lock then gradually got worse over those 5 years. I grenaded the the rear end being a savage on the truck... turned out the clutches were metal to metal causing the issues when turning. Other than a few broked spider gears that I had caused everything looked good. I rebuilt it in a morning using spicer parts and re stacking the clutches in a different order to stock it hooks up really really well! When cold there is a slight skip on tight turns.
  25. Hi I have a strange problem that I have noticed since installing my quadzilla. Since installing my quad I have noticed my TC lock up is lazy and doesn't lock up really unless I'm climbing a grade and pushing the pedal a bit harder. Or I'm wide open in OD it will lock up.. Turn the quad off I get 'normal' lock up in 3rd and OD. Anyone else come into this issue before? Best way to over come? Mystery switches are they worth it? I don't tow I just use this truck for fun it gets used a couple of times a week. I have a bullet input, triple disc modified OD with more clutches etc (firepunk comp 2 rebuild kit without the billet intermediate shaft) Looking forward to hearing if anyone else has noticed this issue I'm having Cheers
