Makes no sense.
Same with me as with raptor 100 that would do change pressure itself. Every tenth times( it is when I am start to drive not every time when I am try to make it happen at my garage to test it. ) now it would drop from 20psi to 15 psi then I tried to adjust it but it won't make any change. I will néed check the screen and see if possible of regulator issue???

Help: in-line fuel filter??
How can I say to napa store to find a fuel filter that has 1/2 inlet?

Help: in-line fuel filter??
No I don't see any large debris but I knew that I did not clean up the raptor pump on frame as screen. That is why I want to clean and put secondary fuel filter so I don't hurt the raptor pump. I don't have fuel pump in the fuel tank. I removed the lift pump at engine so I had installed a raptor 100 system on frame with 1/2 inch hose kit.

Help: in-line fuel filter??
I would like to add the fuel filter as try keep debris away from raptor pump(raptor 100) but I has research and not see what is correct way for me to get a part kit to do on my 2002 dodge ram 3500 cummins as 2wd dually. Also I had noticed the my raptor 100 would not increase te pressure even I did changed the fuel filter at stock canister that did increased from 15psi to 21 but now it went back to 14psi after few weeks driving. I had not get chance to pop the line off at raptor 100 to see at screen to see if plugging up? I had put my cummins into my garage and stay inside for few weeks as had not get time to look at it. Also do I should just upgrade for two filters with pump like air dog or fass?? I am plan to towing two Harley up to Wisconsin in October then December which over thousands miles to drive... I would like to see what is good way to do.

used dodge ram with cummins......
that is interesting to me as my work (largest ford dealership in Indiana) has been get a used dodge ram with cummins as either trade in or from car auction (ADESA). I did inspection on all cummins trucks since I has own mine and work on those before... but the point is The Cummins truck are very quicker to sold than used ford trucks at my work except 7.3L.... even when I had worked on 2006 dodge ram 3500 dually as had bad clutch pedal feeling from clutch release bearing(aka throwout bearing). I was pulled the G56, the buyer was looking around the truck (the truck was on top position of lift machine), the buyer had chat with me on paper and pen as ask me what is wrong with it. I told him honest statement. it was good truck and everything look good except bad clutch and throwout bearing as has little slip and bad noise/feeling. the buyer told me thank you and had the saleman to marked it as sold.. I told him "what you are plan to use it", he said he own a automotive transportation company and he only want a dodge ram 3500 with manual transmission as either NV5600 or G56. he has like 5 cummins trucks that are still running and towing somewhere... also I has worked on other cummins truck that had bought from car auction and I was not sure why it was from car auction that it is looking really clean and in very good shape... so I had good inspection around and it was seem like the previous owner had been take care of it really good but problem is it has little lower miles on odometer.. it had sold after 3 days in sale lot... when I was drove my cummins to my work, few buyers was looking at my truck, my work salemans knew it is mine and ask me if I am think about sell it.. I had simple answer as it is not for sale... thank you for ask me...

1999 dodge ram 2500 : odd...
yeah I can find out what is problem but my work's general manager decided to just send it to car auction to sell it out because he don't want pay too much if it would not get fix... it is his call not mine.... the problem is my dispatcher can just give a simple issue to idiot technician who had ZERO experience except just promoted from lube tech to general line technician....

front end concern
I had replaced all inner and outer tie rods, sleeves, pitman arm, and idler arm as all are worn out... I did alignment at my work (during after work time). sometime when I was driving on highway or road, hit the uneven or bump, I could feeling a pop.. it make me feel like upper or lower ball joint start to wear out? I did replaced the shocks (all fours)... I did test the stabilizer links- it is tight.. the front end tires are show no wear problems... it is independent front suspension...

1999 dodge ram 2500 : odd...
my work just had got a traded in a 1999 dodge ram 2500 but owner had installed the 3500 heavy duty logos from third generation ram... BUT problem is the owner said that transmission is only work in reverse... I was supposed to do that because I has worked on those before but somehow I was back up of works so the dispatcher gave to the wannable technician to do used car inspection... I told him to look at shifter. he said the shifter was act like out of the position... I told him to pulled the shifter assembly out. there is problem is the transmission are NV4500. AND it is brand new.... new clutch, pressure plate but too stiff!!! I did got the shifter back in the position and get it in neutral BUT it did not work. I was plan to work on it when I am done with all other works BUT my dealership decided to wholesale it since wannable technician said there is more problems around.. it has 303K miles. it is running pretty good but just very stiffer clutch pedal... I knew what is problem but they decided to not pay more to make shifter work again...

electric brake INOP on my truck's trailer 7 ways
my dad and I bought a 7x12 enclosed trailer for Harleys towing, moving stuffs, and else what my family and I need to use on our trailer... my dad and I had noticed that our trailer don't have stop feeling when apply the brake. the trailer has electric brake system and the trailer shop where we did bought from, they did tested and it is worked. I has aftermarket electric brake controller (it was used as RV towing business by previous owner).. it do work as turn signal and brake lights. it has ground and power to 7 pins connectors but problem is I has the 7 pins connector tester and when my dad push the button on controller, the tester show either no or very little dim... I am wonder if anyone have a wiring pictures to show what it is supposed to be...

NV5600 fluid
i am former chrysler tech, i did study and research about the fluid for NV5600, i knew the chrysler keep said use the Mopar fluids for the specific transmission.. i had to use mopar fluid as for NV5600 only as i can get good price for it as i has friend who still work for chrysler (the chrysler was almost hire me but Ford shop hired me first as they wanted me)... the problem is i had seen few customers had brought in the diesel truck that has transmission noise or shifting problems. i did always asked for what kind of oil and when did they changed the fluid?? some of owners had never changed it for 150K or more, other owner did not follow the owner manual's fluid specific as just pour the thick gear oil like between 80W-90 to 75W-140 which it is not good.. most of time it has sync teeth go bad and gears has chipped, etc.. i had make two quote as rebuild it or swap it for reman one, most of owners rather go for reman as better warranty and cheap labor as just swapped it... but i do inspect the clutch system to make sure it is good or time for replacement... one guy had me to fixed the nv5600 at work as he had pulled it out and brought it in to my work for me to inspect and repair it... it was a bearing noise because he did not changed the fluid as he had stopped it when it made a noise first place not keeping driving until it get failure...also it is good idea to keep the fluid level same as fill hole on transmission but if you want overfill to keep lube the rear bearing, that is ok but be careful as i do see some of customer who brought the truck in for transmission oil leak, as transmission rear output seal got old and leaking the fluid out...

it is not that bad to replace the heat core but just the time consume.... i would just flush the coolant system out. i will do it at my work as i will use the "BG coolant flush" but just direct coolant and water flush not additives...

Hello from Indiana
well i dont care as it is much better than what my dad and i had used on 2003 Jeep Liberty that had 5,000 lbs limited trailer specific on it. so my parents and i hauled two harley tourings on it and Jeep liberty had work too hard!! my dad had to re-fuel few times to arrive the Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.... Liberty had averaged 16 MPG(it is common of 3.7L V6 engine) but i just felt like it is too much for the Liberty... so i decided to get my own first truck.. i did towed few times and my dad was impressive with Cummins's performance! I told my Dad that i do like drive the RIG (like 18 wheel Semi truck)... i did took my truck from Indianapolis to Gulf Shore Alabama (about 850 miles a way) but it take one and 1/3 tanks to arrive there while my parent's liberty or my brother's dakota(4.7L V8) have to re-fuel often... i have always to be enjoy to driving my RIG on vacation anywhere i want go but i have to know where it would be and see where is diesel stations is...

Hello from Indiana
Thank you so much... i am more than happy to give a help or advise or anything what is question or a problem... i am always enjoy to work on my cummins.. so far i had not do any repairs except i had to adjusted the valve clearance which i had use your article as it is simple and clear. i am plan to do install the oil vent plumbs thing on my cummins. i had measure twice but cut little short.. oops but will fix it and on way... Also i had drove 1,000 miles on less 2 tanks which it is one of the best MPG on the truck that my whole family has!! it is my family's first diesel vehicle ever to own(i had used paid "cash" at once not use loan). my dad and i are planning to look for a large trailer like 20 or 24 feets enclosed trailer to haul two harley tourings, and maybe 1 or 2 import motorcycles (my brother's and his wife's) for vacation to enjoy the riding somewhere. but same time i may need trailer to haul stuff or car for my family or friend if needed...

3 In a Row
i has been seen average miles per gallon on my 2001 Cummins 2WD dually as mixing city and highway... it is about 19 to 20 MPG... but i do fill between 24 to 26 gallons (i has never let fuel gauge pass after 1/4 of tank!) it was between 540 to 600 miles per filling up... most of time i do enjoying to driving my cummins on highway as just go where i want go to get lost! like my dad did with my family when i was kid... my dad always say we will go to someplace where we will lost!
