Alright. What does it mean to have an injector "pinned"? I know its how you find out what size they are but what exactly are they doing? I'm just curious is all...Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

Seals in the stock turbo
Is there anywhere you would recommend finding a hybrid kit to do this? Is there even such a place?

I was also going to ask about a turbo hybrid. I dont know much about it, but correct me if I am wrong. You take your stock HY/HX35 and replace the compressor wheel/housing with that of a HX40. Is this common? Would it be worth doing?

Ok I understand now. Thanks for explaining that. What size injectors are you looking for? I am thinking about going down to rv275's at some point. I might have a set to sell. I just wish I knew exactly what I had lol. The guy I bought the truck from "said" they are 100 hp but I am not really sure if they are or not.

Ok. So, since I have 100hp injectors, I could be safe to turn it down then? Would that possibly save me some fuel? Thank you for letting me pick your brains so much lol. Its just been nice to have so much in one place. If you get tired of my questions just lemme know

Thanks for the clear up. Just one more quick question. What is low boost fuel? what does it mean?

Edge Comp Box
So I have been meaning to ask this. All the different levels and sub levels on the comp. What exactly are you changing when you change them? What does each one do and how much performence do you get out of each one?Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

Seals in the stock turbo
Ok. I would understand the re-balancing. If it were to be a direct replacement, If it were a direct replacement, the machining shouldn't be a problem. Where would I even look for something like this anyway?

Seals in the stock turbo
Since I am going to rebuild it..........Is there any kind of an aftermarket compressor/turbine wheel that I could use? I have seen them for the fords and chev's and they are supposed to be an improvement over stock. If I am going to be in there, might as well upgrade, right?

I totally agree that you can never have too many gauges:thumbup2:. That is a pretty genius place to put that gauge to, i must say lol. Up until now, this is the first time I have ever heard of someone putting a gauge on a manual transmission, apart from the big rigs. Never thought you would have to worry about it getting hot. Thanks for the tip!

Seals in the stock turbo
The only play i could find was side to side. It doesnt have any play in and out so I am good there. It does not contact the housing anywhere that I can see. I am mechanically inclined and have a fairly nice sized tool collection so I am set to rebuild her I think. Where would you suggest getting a rebuild kit? How much longer do you think I could go before rebuilding it? Thanks again so much for the help!! Turbo's are the one thing I didnt learn to much about in tech school:smart:...

Seals in the stock turbo
I pulled that front hose off and everything is filthy inside. It's got to be oil. There is a bit of end play as well. What do you guys think?
-
Seals in the stock turbo
ok. I will pull the hoses off tomorrow and take a looksee. I am also running a AFE cleanable filter so im sure that wont help how it looks inside. I have heard these filters dont do a great job, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the tips and I shall definitely get back as soon as I can on what I find:thumb1:

Seals in the stock turbo
So I think I am burning oil from the turbo... I am going through about a quart every 600-700 miles. I am not leaking anything on the ground except a few drops here and there. I have checked my blowby while the engine is cold right after start-up, and after being on the freeway for a couple hours. Either way, i have hardly any blowby, a puff every now and then. The only other thing I could think of is maybe the seals in the turbo are shot. It is the stock turbo, never been touched and it has 193,xxx miles on it. The head was rebuilt last summer so I dont think it could be in there. Any ideas? thanks everyone!

Im just curious, how did you measure the temp of your tranny? Did you just have a temp gauge hooked in to it?

I haven't been able to rebuild any of the dodge manuals, but I have done a few ford manuals. If it were me, I would just have it all rebuilt. If one syncro is gone, the others cant be far behind. There are other wear parts in a manual too that should be checked. If you are going to be in there, might as well take care of everything that way you dont have to worry about it later. This is just my two cents though

blowby
So I still have the stock tube and bottle and everything on my truck. I dont seem to be having any radiator problems yet, but it does look like there is a lot of oil all over the front of the engine from this set up. I have heard a lot about the conversion to get rid of all of this. What exactly do you do and where do you run the new tube?? Thanks tons in advance!!

RV275 Injectors?
I am thinking about switching to the rv275's. I have 100hp sticks on my stock turbo and the egt's are through the roof!! I would like to also see if I could maybe make better mileage with the smaller injectors. Right now I am running almost 800 degrees empty on flat highway going 60mph!!!!! It makes towing real fun hahaha
-
mpgs
Wow !! I would kill for those egt's. empty, cruising 60 mph on flat ground, I average about 800-900 degrees. I do have a 6 spd with 4.10's and I know that cant help but i gotta do something to get the temp down. It makes towing and hauling not very fun.

How much bigger are the rv275 injectors than stock? I am running 100hp injectors with a stock turbo and my egt's are through the roof. I was wondering if it would be worth it for me to go to something a little smaller in injector size. I am not meaning to hijack but it seems like a good thread to ask this on.

Edge Comp Box
Before mine died, I really liked it to. The only problem is I never drove without the hot unlock so I dont really know what its like.
