  1. No one turned the steering wheel with out truck running Drove staright in under the cover and parked it.... 7 days later ( after alot of rain) Puddle by inside of front wheel . Started truck and backed straight back till i had to turn alittle and noticed no steering and then no power brakes. Stopped waited a couple minutes all was OK Been driving for 3 days and everything is normal... .

  3. I had my truck parked for 7 days under the covered shelter. Haven't started or drove it in a week. Been Raining for a week and off work. I just noticed a little wet spot stain on the concrete inside the driver front wheel this morning. Turns out the power steering pump leaked a little out the cap like it was over filled but it hasnt been. Started the truck and backed straight back and then noticed no power steering and no power brakes. Stopped got out , checked the reservoir and had oil in it and as the truck idled for a few minutes I could see the oil inside the pump start flowing and pump working. Got back in the truck and the power steering and brakes were working fine now. Drove and fueled up the truck and ran a errand came home and everything is fine , no leaks Kind of like there was a vapor lock or Burp bubble in the fluid system or what ever in the power steering/brake fluid system that pushed some fluid out the power steering pump cap and also caused a vapor or air lock ???...I wonder if it was the weather/atmosphere pressure or two days of continues rain and truck sitting for a week Weird...

Just still lookin' , but looks like a pretty good deal, has a big shop garage, Nice house, wish it was more acres though Also eyeballing 12 acre property fixer house /shop just east of Orofino I just found Damn, price have gone up I open to any tips on properties Arent you more up by Riggins moparman ? ? ?

  8. Hey moparman.... I havent been to Boise area in several years..... I here about all the people moving there and there is some traffic now ? Hows the drive on 84 going west out of boise? Or 44 or 26? Traffic? I lived in Emmett for awhile and Sand hollow area off Oasis and old hwy 30 Is that boise, nampa, coldwell, area getting crowded ?

  10. Just a post about auto trans vs manual trans and brake pad life I just put the new front pads and calipers on my truck.....There were only 25,000 on those pads. Pass side with sticky caliper wore way more. could have gone 30k maybe. Drivers side had plenty left....I just wanted to get this sticky caliper fixed . If both sides wore evenly with good calipers I might get 40k on front pads at most, with my Automatic trans... These are just semi metallic auto zone Dura last pads..... I use semi metallics because hey are easier on my rotors These auto trans trucks really eat brakes..... Im always on them brake trying to keep it slowed down with these 3:50 gears and OD..... I can see why a manual / clutch truck would be way easier on brakes and a jack brake even better
  11. I'm working on moving back to the PNW. I used to live in Idaho and love that state.... My brother just moved to Port Angeles area Washington State from Colorado.... With Gods help , I'll be on my way North ...I quit doing copenhagen/skoal a couple years ago....Used to do one tin every day..... Got tired of wasting my money on that over taxed expensive stuff..... I just made the decision and quit...I never smoked, maybe a cigar once in awhile... I didnt have any withdrawals at all (short temper/ edgy) ... I think it was God that helped me quit. .

  17. UPDATE: Installed new front brake pads, new calipers, flushed brake fluid with new. Sticking brake problem solved looks like.... I bought new hoses just in case but didnt install them so Ill return for money back Problem was just sticky calipers. Calipers had a life time guaranty so it cost me $0.00. Pads also had a life time guaranty too (Hee Hee) Total cost was $8.00 for the 32 oz bottle of synthetic brake fluid
  18. Hey,,,, My truck is 8800 GVW..... Is the any difference in calipers rotors etc? between 7500 gvw and 8800 gvw parts? Im guessing they are the same . On rock auto some have a choice of 8800 or 7500. Is that just and excuse to charge you more for the same part? Gottcha below Hagger.... On 8800 I gravity bled last time. Just watched a vid on gravity bleeding again..... That's what I'll do again since Im by my self... It works great Im out of post limit for today , looks like .
  19. I had a 69 ford F250 that had a front disc brake completely lock up. It was a bad brake hose All my other old trucks never had bad hoses.... Even my 81 chevy k20 has all original hose lines. PS- I jacked up the front of my truck this morning and both wheels spin free easy, so nothing is sticking cold . Ok ,,, good on an exhaust brake and long pad life I'm always on the brakes, easy on them and baby it, but these auto trans, high geared 3:50 ratio trucks dont slow down when you off the go pedal , even idling there pulling. My k20 chevy turbo 400 auto with 4:10 gears let of and it slows with no brakes easy
  20. When I bought my truck the guy had some shop put new brakes on the front and new rotors. They phucked up the front bearings. When I just bought my truck I put new front bearings on it...... THe old bearing, what ever they did, they didnt have the races seated. The unibearings came apart when they pulled it apart and they didnt seat them back...... I got the old bearing ip seat the races back but figured they were probably damaged , so I had New Timkins to install. Im wondering if my rubber hoses are bad and clogged . I jacked up and checked wheel spin a couple weeks ago after driving and the brakes and rotors were hot and spinning the wheels there was quite abit of resistance.... I going to check again this morning cold . 200k on a set of disc brake pads...... yeah right....... I call ya on that tale

Ive noticed that many times Anyone have rubber brake hoses go bad inside? 170k miles on my '99 Im on rock auto site pricing the rubber brake hoses looks like the left is $28, right is $11... Rabestos ... Funny they show a left ac delco but no right .... Not sure about their selection 1999 only has rear ABS,,,, Not front ... Correct ? .....Double checking
  22. I put new rebuilt calipers on last front brake work with new pads. Front Passenger side pads wore out a little more than drivers side The second set of front pads same thing is happening . These are auto zone rebuilt calipers lifetime guaranty so I can replace free... Im thinking I just got a bad caliper. Do you think the drivers side caliper is bad since its pads arent wearing as much?
