  1. I swapped a 98.5 24v into my 01. Now no headlights, taillights, dashlights, or parking lights. I'm thinking it has something to do with the switches being different between the years, any help would be great. I'm self employed and this is my company truck and need it to go down the road.
  2. So I got the retrofit led headlights from the hid factory with the morimoto led. I put them in and nothing worked they said move the pins around in the 3 prong plug that plugs into the stock headlight plug in so I did and I got the low beams to work now and the high beams with no problems. But now I cant get the lights to shut off with the switch any ideas on what to try now. The only way I can get the lights to shut off is pull the fuse from the fuse box under the hood but they still flicker very faintly. The hid factory said that I'm on my own and they have never heard of the problem. Thanks
  3. My right headlight started acting up the other day in my 2000 Ram. Left works as it should high, low beam, markers etc. the right however just the marker comes on and I don't believe the bulbs are bad I think I lost my ground. Wondering where the right headlight is grounded
  4. Recently bought a stock 2006 3500. It’s been foggy here lately and I noticed the headlights cross about 20 feet or so in front of the truck. I have read there is no horizontal adjustment on this truck...any suggestions to get the lights straightened out?
  5. My low beam on the passenger side is not working but works when you turn on high beam. Is this from a short in line somewhere or switch or what? Has anyone else had this kind of problem. I have changed the sockets out with new ones, checked for shorts (as good as I can while on the truck) on the harness but nothing to obvious. let me know what y'all think
  6. I am working on my brothers 1999 Dodge doollie, 3500 extended cab with the 24 valve Cummins Turbo Diesel. When you turn the headlights on it kills the engine. The problem is sporadic and will come and go. I pull the ASD relay and the engine will run with the headlights on, after a while, maybe five minutes it will kill the engine, when you turn the headlights back on. I have replaced both the ASD and Fuel pump relays. I also have .5 amp discharge from the battery, which I tried to track down by pulling circuit fuses, one at a time. I did not find it. I believe I have a bad ground somewhere but can't find the link between killing the fuel pump (engine dies) and the headlights being turned on. Any help!
  7. A while ago I hit a deer,my Right headlight got busted. I replaced the light and bulb. The high beam light came on and wound not go off of,driving lights and high beams stay on at the same time.I have checked the fuse and they are all good the high beam light does not go off stays on .Does anyone know what the problem could be.I would appreciate it if some one could help me .thanks
  8. I had a low beam lamp out, tired of buying 1 at a time so bought a set of Sylvania 9007 installed now on constant high beam, won't switch to low? Am i missing something here or did i get a bad bulb, wrong bulbs?:banghead:
  9. I haven't really finished, but figured I'd throw up a thread anyway. I haven't had them out for a test ride yet but I was fed up with ____ factory lights and didn't want to put a bunch of extra lights up there, so here's the new ricey hotness yay boxes of crap! old and busted new hotness in a box Wiring relays while I'm at it. After looking at the high and low patterns I was 90% sure I'd want to be able to run both on high, so I'll get a diode to trigger the low beam relay from the output of the high relay. Without the diode, the low trigger lights the high beams. Ask me how I know Naked! Ricey.... But not as bad as I'd feared. low only high only both beams Sorry, no halo shots yet. The beam is a bit messy. Alignment doesn't look too bad with no tweaking yet... Bulb changes and alignment adjustment will both be a NIGHTMARE. I need a diode to finish wiring up the 4 bulb system but that will give me a chance to test what it looks like with 2 bulbs lit on high or low. The way the patterns line up, I think it's really meant to be a 4 bulb system with the highs filling in over the e-code pattern projector lows. H1 bulbs everwhere; I thought I had a set of HIDs to throw in the lows but I couldn't find them, so it's the cheap halogens that came with them.
  10. Went and did my taxes a few days back and found out I'm getting some money back this year rather than paying, which is awesome news for me and the hospital... I'll be using the majority of the money to pay off the hospital bill I racked up last Thursday, all thanks to the stupid ice and snow!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:Anyway, I decided that if I'm gonna pay off the hospital I at least want to get an HID Kit for my truck. I have been looking for the blue-ish tint ones and haven't found ant good sites. I want something that stands out from the crowd, and no, I am not gonna get the cheap e-bay knock-off's. Anybody know of some good sites or at least lead me in the right direction? Thanks!
  11. OK Guy's.."The moment you've all been waiting for" Here is a complete start to finish Details on Converting Standard 2-headlight system to a Sport Quad headlight sys. i did a few months ago Let me tell you it was a P.I.T.A...i had nothing to go on as none of the threads i found on any of the forums involved building your own from scratch "w/Heavy Duty Stuff" ..most of the write ups were people who had bought a pre-wired harness..like the ones for example suvlights.com or others..all reported problems either "fog lights staying on..lights would not turn off, lights would not come on or lights were dim on bright, etc... So not finding any information in relation to a possiable wiring diagram i purchased a "pre-made harness w/relays from LMC..What a piece of shi$$..i mean lets totally forget that it did not work,{ lights went out or "almost out on Dimm}...this was chineese junk a frigg'n fire hazzard. .cheap light gauge wire i could bite into. connectors that "pulled out after unplugged a time or two..and last but not least.."NO SOLDERED CONNECTIONS, ALL CRIMPED AND "NO HEAT SHRINK. See none of these aftermarket harness's will work on these Trucks neither the Chinese "JUNK" nor the other decent harness's...."WHY" you ask... ..Because no one { that i was able to find } has been able or have taken the time to "Crack This system" and build a precise fit "PLUG AND PLAY" HARNESS ". The 2nd GEN Dodges have a ODD wiring system, I Call it {for lack of a better term} Ground Switching System because thats what it does. It switches the ground Neg- instead of the POS+.. The original wiring has a hot wire to Headlight plug that HOT 24/7..all the time. SO..after tryin to get around it..I started designing & building my own system. and with much help from..MICHAEL "MOPAR MAN" i eventually completed my own system.."NOW..Im passing this information on to you guys because the lights on these trucks "SUCK"..and this is an Awesome improvment that....well ..you will have to see for your self.....AND......I DONT WANT NO ONE TO GO THRU WHAT I WENT THRU BUILDING MINE ..L.M.A.O. ***note*** I soldered all my connections & used heat shrink tubing to make a moisture free system. I also harnessed all the wires in split wire loom conduit thanks Michael Check out link below: Slideshow http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc389/rburks1/Dodge%20Sport%20Quad%20Headlight%20Conversion/?albumview=slideshow Pictures http://s1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc389/rburks1/Dodge%20Sport%20Quad%20Headlight%20Conversion/ Below is the Parts list complete with part numbers & prices. except for the fuse holders, I got most all parts from you can find these parts at most auto or electronic's stores and they don't have to be these brands either but i suggest using quality relays w/holders to make replacement easy. Available @ ralleylights.com ****** Note******* It is not mandatory to use the ones with diodes or resistors, it just helps insure safety for stereo sys, CB & The entire electronic system from EF Feedback.. You could use 30amp relays as you are using separate low and high beam circuits. In the beginning i was originally trying to use only 2 Relays, 1 on each side. I found out later this to be "IMPOSSIBLE" . YOU MUST HAVE 4-RELAYS.. You can use ones with single 87 out and wire together,, the Dual 87 out just makes a nice clean wiring system and i hat cobbled up wiring 4-Relay Holders, complete with terminals....................................................#HL87123.................3.77ea. I Strongly recommend using Holders, it will make changing a relay out as easy as changing a fuse if you should ever have to I got the fuse holders from Advance Auto....."Bussmann Inline, 12ga. wires............#BP/HUU...................5.49ea. I got the Dodge OEM Sport Headlight assembly's @ http://www.factorymopar.com they are a Dodge dealer with online OEM parts. there prices are way below local Dealership. Sport Headlight Assembly's : price= 233.64.. left side 225.38 ..right side There are Cheeper Options for the The Sport Headlights but be forewarned of the cheap knockoffs and there problems like "leaking", , not very good fitment or alignment, ,poor quality Adjusters that make adjustment difficult or impossible>>> "This is important cause you will have to dial these in and insure the Beam is to the left on LOW BEAM Driver side as to keep from blinding oncoming Cars. "The OEM Lights are pretty close out of the box ".. A salvage yard would probably be a good source if you could find any thats not damaged. **UPDATE PLEASE READ ** I have had several Guys PM me asking why is it that there HB indicator light stays burning even on LB...most of the time this issue is caused by wires being in wrong location on one of the Headlight plugs . A weak GROUND circuit will also cause this, You have to have a solid -GND circuit to the Headlight connectors. I used the spare Side post Terminal's on my OPTMA RED TOP BATTERIES POS+ & GND - post. BUT: There is a Post on front inner fender just below the Battery, there is a Solid 8# wire that runs from there that goes to Neg- post battery terminal on battery so this is as good as going straight to Neg without having a bunch of wires hanging off of your Battery causing mores battery issues in the future.. But first be sure it is solid and clean,, if not solid and free from corrosion then replace it. The other cause would be that you have a wire in the wrong place on the back of one or more H L connectors or in the conversion plug itself. 12. Will someone please explain the best way to do this. I just received both left and right complete assemblies ($113.53 to my door cost from EBAY). When I tried to remove the old ones I ran into a problem. Looks like I have to remove the top cap on the front bumper, yes/no?ThanksHNK
  13. Low beams are not functioning properly. High beams work fine if I pull on the stalk, but they do not click into high and stay there. If I want the high-beam lights to work I have to hold the stalk. I only get hi-beams and if I let go I get nothing. The backstory: I was driving home from work this weekend and using my headlights on the Pacific Coast Highway. It was foggy in spots and the low beams were working fine, I think. At least they worked fine the night before... At one point I sped up for a pass and flashed my high-beams to indicate I was coming through. (It's a narrow road in most places.) As it was getting dark, I realized the low beams were not working. Any ideas on where to start? Multi-function switch on the column?98.5 QCSB 4x4 w/ 178k...Thx,bb
  14. I searched the forum before this post but still not clear on this type of headlight. I was looking at these to replace mine due to the usual fogged lense, anyone on here know anything on these or have them? Wonder if they're just install and wire to the ground and live via wire tape, or is it alot more to it then i'm understanding? basically want to know if this is a good way to go or not http://www.k2motor.com/94-95-96-97-98-99-00-01-dodge-ram-halo-projector-headlights-black-tm.html
