One thing a week

Recommended Posts

That's what this truck has needed since I bought it, at least it seems that way.  I have 118K on the rig and Last week, I checked out the vibration when slowing and found a seized lobe on the rear pinion u-joint (Napa 330 for 3 joint shaft).  Only cost 20 bucks and about an hours time though. Today, come out of work to a puddle of PS fluid from a 8 month old box leaking out of the pinion seal- I've been running a box/steering brace for 4 of those months. Speakers quit the week before that, oh and the parking brake tension cam froze up on the drivers side last weekend and it wouldn't release.  Windshield got smacked by a rock a few weeks before that (can't help that though). This truck is a real workout.  Doesn't someones sig say that they are an indentured slave?? I get it now.

I use the term "indentured servant" a lot. :) We are slaves to a government as they take personal property without permission via personal income taxes. Also known as "Legal Plunder". Read the book "The Law" by Frédéric Bastiat, its a real good read.

Also like to use the term "Sweat equity" for situations like you are having.

I do not miss any of my 3 second gens for that exact reason, always kept one busy with never ending piddly stuff.

My 3rd gen is just the opposite, I just drive it and rarely have to work on it in comparison. :thumb1:

Don't give up as there will be a time when your truck will  reward you with long term smooth running :thumb1:  My first gen has had it's share of frustration and we go thru times when we don't like each other :poke:  but patience and perseverance does get returned every time for another hundred thousand or so. It's never let me down on that respect.
