Mopar switch wireless control

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried to hook the Mopar switch up so it automatically changes to 3 cylinder high idle with a remote starter? I can see forgetting to change it from mpg to 6 or 3 cylinder high idle. Has there been anybody whose tried doing this and was successful. Or am I alone and gonna have to figure it out by myself.

That is true. But my truck has problems with idling up on cold days currently. I've got a switch on order. I think it would be a cool thing to do but instead of making it mechanical by rotation the dial. Wouldn't it almost be easier to put a electronic switch board that could have set times that can be setup to turn the high idle on every time the truck starts and is left in idle state for more that 2 minutes. Then it high idles. I know it's a little.outside of the box which is why I asked if anybody has done it. It would also be cool if the electronic board could recieve Bluetooth and change to whatever setting you choose from your phone when doing remote start.

Just check with weather and turn the switch the night before.  It doesn't have to be too complicated.  The truck shouldn't completely die off of idle to 3cyl unless you have injector problems.  If it doesn't make it into 3cyl due to cold (mine does at times) it will just revert to normal idle for 1 more minute as the 3cyl allows the rpm to sag.  The software is cummins, and they did a good job.

Besides, I would be more concerned with not allowing the truck to heat up the grids (wait to start) using a remote start.

It worries me more using a remote start and not being able to monitor engine oil pressure on initial start up. I'd rather be physically there to see the initial startup values. As for the high idle it will normal idle for period of time to allow the engine to get lubed up before putting more load on. As for remote start just set the switch for the mode you plan on needing the night before.
