Doors and hinges

I think I mis-spoke.  Looks like all OEM hinges are still available.

Use your jazz hand routine on the googler to locate an online OEM retailer.  My local dealer parts department is good to work with, and generally pricing is very close to what I find online.  Big advantage is they generally  have it in a local warehouse and I get parts either the same day, or next day including Saturday.  Your results may vary.

Personally, I stick with OEM, especially when it comes to body panels and body components.  It's the result of my work experience in the industry.  Aftermarket frequently needs some sort of tweaking or massaging to fit properly.  Not saying that will be the issue with LMC as their quality tends to be better, but not necessarily OEM.  You could split the difference.  OEM driver, LMC passenger?

dollars and sense always seem to get in my way with this truck...  Its worth in the open market lets say $5-7k (350k miles and tired synchros in the nv5600 scares people :-) ) and I am looking at $500 in door hinges or 10% of the value of the truck..  I always have to rely on my justifiers to get these things done.  If I want the door hinges to match the red paint, I can probably double the cost...   This truck is lucky I really like it HAHAHA

Just do what I do when it comes to having to drop a dime or two on it.  I just have a looksee at new and used truck prices and then calculate how much more I would have to spend to make it run and look like mine and then break that down into payments for X amount of years and then make the obvious decision...new door hinges! ?

I hear ya.  On the flip side I doubt you need full hinges.  I used to do a lot of bushing replacements.  Lots of old farmers that never lubricate hinges or latches.  The only hinges that were replaced were usually the result of the accident.  Drivers side top should be replaced to get the detent spring back.  The rest I'm sure either a replacement bushing, or an oversized bushing will correct the issue.  You can tear into the passenger side with a repair kit in hand.  If it looks like oversized bushings will be needed there is nothing stopping you from getting some measurements, and putting it back together with the original pins and bushings.  Then you can round up enough parts to do everything.

I am trying to figure how you will have 500 bucks in the hinges. Looking at the link you are only in it for $204 plus time and thats replacing all the hardware, per LMC. I my self would trust the LMC. What things I have bought from in the past has been good quality, but never bought a door hinge.

I guess OE pricing is getting you that high, forgot about that.

I called LMC and they assured me their hinges were very good and they were. I talked with the owner who happened to answer the phone. I asked if they were U.S. made and she assured me they were, I would call them and ask them tho and I think you might only need the uppers, but I'm not there to see your truck. That is what my first gen needed was only the uppers at over 400 k miles.

BTW, your order is correct and you may not you need the hardware kit. That interior kick panel is piece of cake to remove so the hinges replacement is easy for the most part.

IBMobile is good man. He is fair enough that I would bring money and beer. :thumb1:... he'll deserve it based on what he's done for me
