Fog lights

Recommended Posts

Driving at night in my truck is like driving with my eyes closed and I need to do something about it. I have been looking for an entire fog light kit since my truck does not have the stock fog lights installed. I had ordered a set off ebay but they were too big and did not fit(think they were the 3''). I also checked the dealer and they said there are none available for the diesels, which I find hard to believe since I see them on other trucks all the time. I am looking for a set that will fit in the stock location and that comes with the wiring harness and switch. If anyone knows of somewhere to get these please let me know. Thanks

Dodge made a retrofit kit which includes the harness, switch, lights, mounting brackets and newskirts to fit the bumper opening. Everything included and nothing extra to buy or build. It is all mopar (not a knock off) and you get the wiring diagram where you have to connect one wire on the switch into the high beam circuit of the existing truck harness.I bought mine about five years ago and I got it from a Dodge Dealer that listed it on ebay.If my memory serves me correct I purchased it for $135 plus shipping. I do remember the dealer telling me it was their last one. Don't know if that was reflective of their specific inventory situation or whether it was the last one because they weren't being made anymore. I just didn't ask. When I was looking for a retrofit kit I found a huge difference between what some of the dealers knew and what others said. In otherwords, I couldn't always rely on what the dealer would say in answer to my queries.

Yea out of the 4 dealerships within reasonable driving distance i finally found one with a nice, knowledgeable and honest parts guy and i woulnt go anywhere else or talk to anyone else. I mean theyve given me parts to see if it fixs my problem and he told me if it works pay me for it in the next few days if not bring the part back no problem.-Jordan-

My truck came with the factory fog lights. They are worthless & the bulbs too expensive. I never use them anymore. I believe Ginos has an up-bulb kit for these but wonder if the heat will shorten bulb life. I know my truck is low mileage, few hours on the lights... but I am satisfied with OEM headlights. I wonder if some mis-aim or mis-positioning (a small depth error will screw up the lens focus)... or fogged lenses is the biggest culpret. There are those who have adapted sport headlights with dual bulbs. I would look at the headlights very closely... find the real problem. If I wanted driving lights, I'd figure out something above or under the bumper...
