DEAD Batteries

I'm not finding excessive draw with everything off. I'm going to make a new post for the starting issues. I don't know "why" this started with the Dead Batteries... or did it? I'm going to recheck connections in the morning.

can you dig up two new batteries, or two used ones from another place to see if that fixes it.It sounds to me that your batteries are done for. you said they were reading 11.9v and if they are not deep cycle (meaning you can kill them and bring e'm back (like marine batteries) i would say that is your problem there.

The Batteries are Sears DieHards, in Warentee. I drove the truck to their auto store & they supposedly load tested them & they passed. But I now have starting problems. Engine is turning over but not catchinig, which may be the grid heaters not going on. I am going clean battery terminals after it warms up outside. While disconnected, I'll slap the voltmeter on it to get resting voltage. If I find it's out of spec, it'll be back to Sears. I can buy new batteries if it comes to it. I'd not buy batteries from someone who does not stand behind their warentee but let's take one step at a time.

check all grounds also, many forget this part. not jufr from negative terminal but engine to chassis grounding etc etc...

Finally got a nice day to work outside. I pulled all the battery conections, cleaned them & put them back. No sign that Sears had taken them off at all. No corrosion (Have to say this is nice to have clean batteries). There was a little oxidation between post & cable ends. Both batteries read 12.36 Volts. This is after sitting for 2 days. I don't know how these batteries seem to have survived being run down. I wish I'd checked the battery voltage before I slapped the charger on there.

I didn't go back with the key to try to start it. Tomorrow.

Yesterday, I decided P*ss on it... I had already lost my clock & radio stations (nothing to lose) so I disconnected both batteries Negs, Positives Then reconnected Positives then Negatives after cleaning up the battery terminals & wire ends throughly...

Today the wait to start worked normally, & truck lit off instantly, first click of the key. That's what I'm talking about!

I suspect but can not prove that susquent to the dead batteries, that some connection got loose / dirty.
