Cruise control diagnostic?

Looks like its all in the computer, huh? I was hoping for a disconnected vacuum line like I'm used to :)I have an ABS light on, so I'm guessing there's a dead wheel speed sensor somewhere. I'd like an easy way to find them but I don't have a drb, and Smarty Jr & Edge Insight don't read ABS codes. Is there another software tool that anyone knows of that I could use with a serial OBD II cable?I need to get the truck inspected soon, I'll see if my shop has anything but they're not big enough to waste $ on a DRB.

Pull up any codes via the odometer.

More than likely the ABS speed sensor problem is interfering with the cruise control function so you would have to resolve the ABS issues most likely to get the cruise working properly again.

I'm pretty certain of that - but there are at least 4 speed sensors and I was hoping there was a way to have the ABS computer tell me which was bad without a DRB

I wish I had that right now I'm still fighting a ABS/BRAKE light issue. I know like Wild & Free posted a while back that if you replace one sensor in the front you should replace both. Well I replaced the broken one right off and the light reset going out the shop door as soon as I hit the highway and built up speed the light are back on again. Speed sensor mismatch. I need to get the other sensor...

I have friends who work at Delphi, I can borrow a TechII all day long, bur DRB III?

I found a switch actuated on the return stroke of the clutch pedal that was not being actuated. I was hoping that was the root of my cruise control issue but alas it was not. No difference today after I adjusted that switch to make contact.ABS light is still on, of course.The front sensors retail for about $50ea from Rock, so I'm still hoping that's not it.

There isn't a whole lot to go wrong in the system, the ABS/BRAKE light means you have a loose or bad wheel sensor.. well that's the easiest fix and since cruise won't work I will guess that is the issue. If there is a speed mismatch the cruise things your spinning and won't engage.Are you sure there are 4? I thought it was a 3 channel system, but I could be wrong.
